The English Language

let's face it - english is a crazy language.

there is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple.

english muffins weren't invented in england or french fries in france.

He gets frustrated at it and asks why, I just tell him what his teachers say: " because the english language is dumb"

Mine is the nick name that my brother in law gave me when we first met. It's just a play on my real name. Leah.

Want to change it to Freedom, oh well.

hello everyone i would like to update you guys on a small part of my life since i joined this forum may 4th.

* brother died at age 36 may 29th from a brain aneurysm (very devestating, he had no insurance -- i planned the funeral, help pay for the funeral, decided to donate his organs (wonder what the jw's feel about that one?

) cooked, hosted the after gathering, cried..cried...cried...etc.

I am also the proud owner of some very ungrateful teenage girls!

Soooo looking forward to that stage, not.

My daughter is two going on 16. Has so much attitude, I guess she takes after her mother.

About the boobie thing, by some really tastefull clothes that show em off, I did when I was pregnant. Now if I want that look I have to use a push Up bra. My kids sucked the life out of them.

LOCAL JW BUSTED FOR KIDDIE PORN

i just saw on the local news that a jw i have personally met and whose family i know was arrested for child pornography.

he is only about 30 years old.

this is the second case in 2 months involving an arrest for a child sex crime within the same congregation (the man on the news actually moved away a few years ago).

My child was molested by a 12 year old unbaptised publisher in the congregation. My son was three at the time.

The elders supported us untill we went to the police, then they supported the child who molested my child. They did not even talk to my son, said that they believed my childs molester.

Thought that my kid was making up stories, do they no know that kids can not make up stories about stuff they don't know.

They said that nothing could be done to my childs molester because he was not baptised. But they still took him out witnessing and to quickbuilds.

I was warned that if i told anyone I would be up for slander, told them they could disfellowship me for all I care but I would be letting all in the congregation with small kids know what he had done. The police backed me up with that.

You can have all the advise in the Elders Books but unless the elders do what they are supposed to do then it's all a bunch of crap.

did anyone here just broke the news to the unsuspecting spouse/so that they just were not going to be a jw anymore?.

please tell me about the reactions and the aftermath.

did it break the relationship, or did it survive?

Did not tell him that I was definatly out, just that I could not do it anymore, had been hurt too many time by the organisation. Maybe one day I would feel differently.

He was not happy about it and tried for ages to talk me out of it, told me that my mother and father, no longer Jdubs, had influenced me.

Gradually he tried to accept it, every now and then would ask me to go to the meetings, but apart from that did not hassle me too much.
