  Turns out liquor store in my neighborhood is owned by JW's

  i was very surprised, here in alberta, canada, they privatized the liquour stores about 10-15 years ago, and the amount of stores tripled, practically one on every corner now, .

  well, it turns out, that one store in my neighborhood isowned and operated by this family that are jehovah's witnesses, belong to a chinese congregation, .

  i would think this would not be allowed, or show poor judgement, they say its wrong to have a store and sell cigarettes, but maybe alcohol is ok, .

  The birds are getting ready to eat us?

  my mom (a baptized jw who hasn't been to a meeting willfully in years) commented today on how the birds in the neighborhood have been acting more aggressive lately.

  how they've been taunting and divebombing our cat, being loud and obnoxious, etc..(the probable reason for this is that our cat probably killed a baby bird or something).

  she said the birds are getting ready to eat animals.

  Now I know the reason why I've always been scared of birds. From a very young age they have been swooping me. Does that mean that i was never giong to make it.

  The thought of armagedon does not scared me cause i'm worriedabout me, i'm scared for my kids. Oh well, just in case it does happen, at least I've got lots of JW family to help make them through. He he.

  this is my first post, i am using a friend?s alias because i can?t seem to logon under my own.

  i have been what?s known on this site as a lurker for the past 2 plus years.. however, i could not resist the opportunity to solicit your feedback on an e-mail i received from a co-worker who is a j-dub.. i no longer consider myself one, although i was in the org.

  for 25 years.. after reviewing the e-mail my family and i became quite nausea.. please take a look and tell me what you think.. .

  Did I Do The Right Thing?

  this happened just about an hour ago.

  i'd driven out of town to do some remedial work for a customer, so i was driving my battered old ford sierra.

  coming back into wsm, i was a few hundred yards from a large roundabout and was positioned in the correct lane, ie, the centre one, and slowing to a stop.

  You definately did the right thing, drunk or not that guy should not have been on the road.

  One of my friends was killed by some idiot being reckless, and my ex's best friend's mother was killed by a drunk driver.

  When will people learn that cars are potenial killing machines and treat them that way.

  Any one out there been diagnosed with bipolar?

  i've just started being treated for bipolar disorder, used to be called manic depression.

  medication i'm now (lexapro) on seems to be working really well.

  i do worry about how my being bipolar will effect my kids.

  Will definately take my meds, for me and my kids. have resigned myself to the fact that i will be on them for the rest of my life.

  I'm also seeing a psychologost and check in with my psychiatrist every few months as well. I've got a lot to work through.

  I do worry about how my being bipolar will effect my kids. I was diagnosed, disfellowshipped and became a single mum all in the same week.

  Any one else have the same problems and how do they handle them.

  How Many Here Changed Their Personality After Leaving The Witnesses?

  My basic personality has not changed, but i don't carry around that huge burdon of guilt I've had my whole life. I also feel a lot more free and i think i've actually become my true personality.

  I just spoke to a friend of mine who still is a JW and she rekons i look better now than i ever have. A lot of people have said the same. So i think the truth was detrimental to my health. I am a much healthier person now.

  i have felt so bad the last several weeks.

  as most know, my good friend died on may 26. i have been extremely depressed over this.

  then i got really sick.

  I know how much money renovating can take, we did the same that you are doing. A small word of advice, don't go overboard we did and wasted thousands. And my husband and his family are builders.
