Adultery, Forgiveness & Divorce-----WATCHTOWER STYLE
by minimus ini wonder how many have been affected by the watchtower's interpretation of these things.
i know of many many jws that "live together" only because they are married to each other.
these people almost hate each other, but would never leave their marriages and get an "unscriptural" divorce.....i know of wives that "forgave" their husbands "unknowingly".

Know that feeling, lived with mine for years before I gave him scriptural grounds for divorce. We did not hate each other but the marriage was over years ago.
I know of wives that "forgave" their husbands "unknowingly". According to the Watchtower, if you have sex even once with an adulterous mate, you have automatically "forgiven" him......
What do you mean by unknowingly, my husband and I slept together for months after I'd had an affair. But once he found out about the affair then he had grounds, if he slept with me after he found out then he would no longer have grounds.
I reckon this is a load of crap, If you do want to repair a marriage that has gone through this sometimes sex is a part of the repair work. What if months after the partner decides that no they cant put the hurt behind them, their options are blown.
I had a JW relative tell me that what goes on in a marriage bed is up to you, your partner and Jehovah, just don't tell the Edlers, and do what you deep down feel is right. I tend to agree with her.
Ther are way too many cases of husband abusing their wives and using the threat of loneliness as a means of keeping their wives under their fists.
It just sucks.

Can I withdraw a Disassociation?
by Woman know your place ini'm new to the site, and wonder can anyone advise me..... two years ago i decided to leave the jws, and when i met with the elders to inform them, they told me they had grounds to disfellowship me (i told them i doidnt believe in god and had slept with my boyfriend.....for full story see my profile).
at the time i thought that telling them would just mean that i could get on with my life and they would know that i was not a jw... i thought that you could only df a person who wilfully sinned against god.... well i didnt believe in god, so how could i wilfully sin against him?
anyway, as i said, the elders wanted to df me, and, not wanting to be seen as a sinner, i wrote a letter of disassociation detailing my reasons for not believing ahead of the dfing.. so did the elders have grounds to df me?

I was just recently disfellowshipped and the elders said that if i continued to show that I was repentent and continues being a good little girl and came to the meetings then I could be reinstated within a few months.
That's the latest Idea her anyway.
What actually happens may be different though, don't know.
My advice is just to speak to the elders in your local area and see what they have to say. You will probably have to lie as to the reasons for getting reinstated though.

Protecting your kids
by Lehaa injust saw a great news report on how to protect you kids from predators.. it all revolves around a code word.. you and your kids agree on one.
if someone different is to pick your kids up you give then the code word.
if they don't know the word then the kids know that you did not send them.

Thanks, that tip about what to yell was great.
My kids are not allowed to go tho the bathroom by themselves, my 6 year old boy still has to come into the ladies with me or we usually use the disabled toilets, the only place you can get a stroller in.

Ban on baby strollers at DC's
by razorMind in...is that at all the district conventions?.
did that rule come from the society or from a safety law on the books(fire hazard)?.
if i take a baby stroller to the dc will i get kicked out?
-
Lehaa
Here you are allowed to take a stroller too and from the convention site and there is an area where you can park them, you can accrss them any time as long as you don't take them into the seating area.
Hey Xander you ever taken kids to a convention??????
