  Can I get an Amen in the AM?

  in the morning....i trot before the judge and my divorce will be final.

  i am so nervous i can't sleep.

  so instead i am up, reading the board, drinking all my brothers liquor and trying to drown out all the "god damn" kingdom melodies he is playing .

  Does Anyone Feel Stuck In Their Job?

  does anyone hate their job but feel like they would be throwing away a good thing if they quit?

  i'm working at my 3rd state agency in 4 years and have been unhappy at every one of them--usually because i don't have enough work to do and feel like a hamster on a wheel waiting for the paycheck, and i'm so bored!.

  i'm scared to quit the state job because i have a large family, and this affords me great medical benefits and retirement benefits.. any advice?

  I feel the same as you! I am not paid very well. I work long hours and every weekend!

  I have less than 17 years to go! Then I am going to Quit!

  Yep, should have married my soul mate and run away with him.

  Instead i was a good girl. said goodbye to him, married a good JW boy.

  Lived in hell for 11 years.

  Then found my soul mate realized we still loved each other and spend the next few years wondering what could have been

  Are Kingdom Halls ever used for AA Meetings?

  i found this article online and thought it quite interesting.

  i always thought kh's were used for kh business only.... the weekend shooting death of harvey county sheriff's deputy kurt ford could lead to murder charges today against a newton man.. several of those who know greg moore said his life began deteriorating several years ago after he stopped attending alcoholics anonymous meetings in the jehovah's witnesses kingdom hall just up the street from his house.. "he drank a lot -- i know that," said doug foulk, who lives in the neighborhood and worked with moore at excel industries in hesston for several years in the 1990s.

  "he'd been in trouble with the cops quite a bit.".

  The hypocrisy of the DF policy

  i posted recently about a jw friend on mine getting df'd.

  (she was the only jw who kept in touch with me when i left 5 years ago).. now i'm just so angry about some things that have been said by my jw family.

  just this last weekend my friend hit rock bottom.

  I really feel for your friend, it's soo hard to deal with.

  You're mum's answer is soooo typical. My mum, who no longer considers herself a dub and wants nothing to do with it say's the same thing to me when I try to talk to her about how hypocritical the whole DF'ing thing is.

  Give your friend a huge hug for me and tell we're all there for her.

  I went throught the same thing got df'ed just to get away from an abusive husband, and no nothing happened to him either.

  Do Your Neighbors Think You're Nuts?

  do you socialize with your neighbors?

  everyone knows how we as a religious group only socialized with each other, then when inside the hall, we only associated with a select few, those who were deemed worthy of our association.

  now that you are out, or in varying degrees of staying within the borg, are you allowing yourself to get out and mingle amongst those in your community?

  yep i socialize with my neighbours and they're certain I'm nuts....... but then so are my friends and family.

  How long is a cotton picking minute?

  sometimes i hear someone say: "hold on just one cotton pick'in minute....".

  i'm wondering, is a "cotten picking minute" a "bored" minute that feels like a long time or is it a "busy" minute that seems to fly by?

  Telling someone you've known a long time that you were a JW

  tonight i was out having dinner with a friend/colleague i've known for five or six years.

  the conversation turned to religion: first religion in politics, then his general distaste for religion, and then his lack of a religious upbringing.

  there was a lull for a moment, and then i said "it was pretty much the reverse situation in my household.

  I know how you feel. I feel weird too sometimes.

  Mostly people are really interested and have heaps of questions, it's interesting when they find out how weird it really all is.

  I have not been out for too long though and not many non dub friends
