to all you animal lovers out there.. i awoke this morning to find that my dog had passed away during the night.. he was a golden retriever cross and the baby of the family.
he loved the kids and would lie down so my 2 year old could sit and lie on him.. he dug out of the back yard and got into my gardening stuff.
he ate half a box of snail bait.. i'm feeling really guilty, sould not have left it out.

isn't this special?
this is an e mail making the rounds......
remember the letter that was read to all congregations regarding going out to get food during the break.
Thank you Elsewhere for getting us that info. I knew it couldn't be true.

If I really gave a sh*t I would contact the Cow Palace management myself to ask them if they would do this. It is a line of BS just to keep everyone in line -- and clapping at the meetings for such "obedience".

my mom had her valve replacement and triple by-pass surgery today.
the operation lasted five hours, and they had just gotten her to her room at 8:00pm when she went into cardiac arrest.
the doctor tried everything, even opening up her chest and massaging her heart.
((((((((Karen))))))))
I am so very sorry for your loss.

did anyone here ever start a bible study while out in field service?
from scratch, all by themselves?.
i had a couple of studies but never started one from cold.
Never. And I always felt guilty about it. Now I am glad I didn't.

I would like to think I do. The other day I was in a dressing room at Ross and this woman asked my opinion about something and I told her. Then she proceeded to tell me how her husband of 36 years left her and about her court case, etc. (I work in the legal field) I was surprised she confided in me and my boyfriend said I must draw people in. The way I see it -- I have a chip on my shoulder and I can be very negative. So I guess it depends on the mood I am in when you meet me.

my hubby and i had my mom over last sat.
and overall she was pretty good with the exception of the magazines she left at the very end.. now she has called and asked if we can get together, just us, for cokes on friday while i'm in town.
now, i know that she is going to witness to me and ask me if i love jehovah and tell me that if i do i should obey his commands.......and so on....and i will probably leave her feeling worthless.. i don't want to miss out on spending time with her because i really love my mother....but on the other hand i don't want to leave her depressed.... any suggestions?
This is what I would like to be able to say to my mother one day:
Mom, I don't judge you or try to pressure you because of the religion you have chosen. I would like the same courtesy.
Short, simple and to the point. But if your mom is anything like mine, that won't be enough. If I were to say that to my mother I wouldn't feel guilty walking away when she chooses not to respect my wishes.
Good luck.

i think that if i had to describe my basic attitude toward life, the universe, and everything in one sentence, it would be this:.
generally, and on reflection, life is better today than it was yesterday.. very anti-thetical to the wt view of things, i know.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that sums it up for me:
Don't Postpone Joy
That is what I was doing all those years trying to be a good JW. I don't postpone experiencing joy anymore and I have a much fuller life now.

moose is the puppy, and ladybug is our older basset (teenager, really -- she's almost 2).
moose gets into the funniest sleeping positions, as illustrated below:.
i love how ladybug carefully curls herself into a tight ball and wraps her tail around her nose!
Adorable!!!! I love the first one where the dog is on his bag with his head under the couch. Hysterical!!!
