  Missing Old Friends

  even though you have left the faith and after reading crisis if conscience etc and you konw it is not the truth and would never go back do you still misss some of your friends in there.

  i was in it for 42 years from birth and it still upsets me that my lifelong fiends have vanished.

  we are making new friends, but i actually liked a lot of these people.

  Nope. We are closer than ever. She has faded too. She won't read Crisis, but she was never very strong in the "truth" to begin with.

  I hear you littlemike. My best friend is still my "best friend" and we will always be a part of each other's lives, but there were other relationships that I cultivated that I seriously miss. I got engaged last week and I can't run around and tell everyone how happy I am and that totally sucks.

  All in all though I am glad I am not part of THAT organization anymore and I am happier than I have ever been. Every once in a while I get a twinge of nostalgia.

  a pioneer sister just came to my door.

  she has a very sweet personality--she started off with a hug.

  My boyfriend is a hard core mountain biker. He bought me a Gary Fisher Mt. Bike (inexpensive) to see if I liked it. I do, and I will eventually get a better bike.

  He too lusts after a Rocky Mountain. He was looking to get one in Canada (not sure why), but he said he could get a good price in B.C.

  i am in a relationship with a man who is jw.

  the things he tells me leads me to believe that their beliefs espouse doing nothing to better the world as it is hopeless, and all is coming to an end anyway.

  this seems like a cowardly way to face the hardships in this world.

  Dear Mole:

  Have faith my fellow Californian! My boyfriend's birthday is today and I bought him a card, got him a cake and a gift. But. . . I could not bring myself to sing happy birthday to him when we went to lunch today with people from work. I just couldn't do it. He totally understands (that and other things) and does not hold that against me. He is very patient as I try to figure out my way through this "brainwashing thing".

  So. . . my point is. . . the are people/women out there who would "deal" with the brainwashing you have suffered through. Think positively. . . .

  Back from a JW wedding, observations about JW's

  i just got back from my younger sisters wedding and yes both she and her new hubbie are jw's.

  so i had to spend time with pretty much all jw's.

  Glad to hear you survived SD. How was the wedding talk? Nauseating?

  I remember a wedding I went to more than 20 years ago that had an open bar. A prominent elder's daughter (a minor) had to be carried out because she inbibed too much alcohol. I know people who still talk about that "incident". Funny thing is -- I can't recall who even got married that day, but I can still see that girl being carried out. LMAO
