It was 69 degrees in downtown San Jose, CA this afternoon. Felt like late Fall. We are expecting rain tomorrow - haven't had much of that this year.

New York: The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society is planning to build a new headquarters complex in Warwick. Totally 832,000 sq ft, the project encompasses 12 buildings, including a three to four story office building; a 195,000 sq ft place of worship. four five story multi-unit residental buildings totalling 400,000 sq ft; a 137,000 sq ft service building; a two-story 100,000 sq. ft maintenance building and 750 space underground parking garage. The architect is Perkins Eastman. The construction cost is estimated at more than $50 million. Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn 11201. DR #10-00630075.

Thinking about presenting a speach to the City Council of my town
by sabastious inthe city council of my town in california has banned marijuana collectives after allowing 16 to put up shop and provide for patients.
the ordinance will go through dec 1st and it will be illegal to setup a collective beyond that date.. i am thinking about becoming an activist for medicinal marijuana and i wrote this speach.
i have never spoke before a council before, so i thought posting it here first would break the ice for me.. let me know what you think, if you agree/disagree and why.. .

Did you speak yet? It is a good speech, but might I make a suggestion? Most cities allow 2 or 3 minutes for public comment on non-agendized items. You might want to hit the high points as you might not have time to read it all in front of a council and actually get your point across.
Just a thought as I have seen many people speak before councils.

i was raised in a jw family but never got baptized.. my father used to make me and my sister put old awakes and watchtower's in the trick or treaters' bags.
we would say: "i don't celebrate halloween but here's a treat for you!

Sometimes we would hide out in the back of the house. Or, because my mother was "somewhat" cool - she would plan skating parties if Halloween fell on a Friday or a Saturday. She would rent the whole rink and invite all the dubs and they would pay a small amount. I cannot even imagine having to hand out the WT or Awake - gawd, I don't think that entered my parents mind! How awful.

Need help picking an engagement ring
by Cagefighter inladies please weigh in.... i am seriously thinking about buying an engagment this summer.
first, we are both early 30's make about the same roughly (50k) a year.. i am thinking getting a decent quality diamond .90 carat on a platinum ring... seems to be about $3800-4500k price wise.. please be honest..... i saw the ring her x gave her.. it was yellow gold with a white gold top where some side stones were and a .66 to center stone was set that was a "gift".
granted she picked it out.. 1. my ring must be way better than the one her x gave her.. 2. i won't propose without a ring so taking her to pick on out is not an option.
