having done field service in the uk, i preferred working streets as opposed to blocks in the us.
working "blocks" was confusing, as more often than not, we would have no idea which way to go, or how far to go.
at least with a street, you could work over and over and completely cover it, and not have to write "stopped at 125 xxx ave".
Well. . . .living in the city I had no choice. We called them streets here. I used to like the streets that had no houses on them (there were three or four in the territory).
Did rural once when I visited Texas. I think we did 6 hours one day and I talked to 3 people -- those were the days. . . .

well..............i have had my hair many colors........as my friends can attest.. today i went black...dark.. so.. what do you all think of the phases of juls.. which color works best on her???
here i am from black.. to blonde and brunettte to auburn.. .
I like the brown color. Auburn is my second choice. I used dark auburn from Loreal and it comes out in between those two colors.

I asked an elder once "how long do I have to wait on Jehovah?". He replied "as long as it takes. you know, sometimes the answer to your request is no." This was when I desperately wanted to marry a witness and I was praying for a mate. I used to ask myself "why would Jehovah say no when he knows this is something that I want so bad". Why? It just didn't make sense. It still doesn't make sense. I left and I found the most wonderful man -- is that how my prayer got answered? I don't know and I don't care. If that means I don't have faith. . . . then so be it.

i am an ex jay dub in the uk.. i was was in 'the lie' for 36 years, spent most of it feeling guilty.. in 93 i started a teaching degree & found that i couldn't kid myself anymore, i haven't been to a meeting since.. it's great to find an ex's site that hasn't got a hidden alternative religious adgenda.. .

to tell you a little about myself, i grew up a j.w, i was married when i was 21. my first wife was abused by a brother in her hall for years.
we were married for about a year , when one day i got a phone call from a man at the watchtower and track society.
Welcome woody. About the fear issue -- my mind knows that you are correct, but my heart still has fear residing in it. Slowly, but surely that fear is fading (thank god)!

i am trying to fade slowly, but am finding this increasingly difficult.
i can't sit through a meeting, i had to leave at the 1/2 the other day, because of my recent enlightenment, the hypocrisy is to much for me to take.
as i left you could see the looks on people faces, "oh she's just not spritual enough".
Fading is difficult. I did it and I had witnesses living across the street from me watching my every move. I finally had to move away to completely break away. I think walking away from the JWs was the hardest thing I have ever done because it mean't leaving behind my entire life and starting fresh. (best decision I ever made though) It has been about 2 years now and I still struggle with my emotions.
