We also wrapped a watch that ticked in a towel to mimic a heart beat.
Unique,
Did that help?

yesterday, my fiancee was working on his house and as he was doing "demo work", he found a nest of kittens.

How are the kitties today?
Thank you asking Satanus. They are fine and they are all still alive. They have started to purr and it is the most precious thing I have heard in a long time. They haven't been pooping so my fiancee ran home after I had fed them at lunch to help stimulte them. There is so much to know in taking care of these little guys.
I decided to keep one of them (the one that is the most mellow) and I am trying to find homes for the other four, as I am getting married in three weeks and won't be around.
Well I don't have any advice to offer you Purza but I just wanted to give you a big hug for what you are doing. Kudos to you
Thank you xjw. I am exhausted, but I feel I have a responsibility to them.
Purza (which just happens to be my kitty's name)
i had a collection of older publications almost second to none.
along with the 30-year publications index, i felt invincible in the research department.. then i got disfellowshipped and divorced, and my ex kept them all.
" i couldn't tell her "for research" because that would have sounded like i was going to write a book exposing jw's, which would have made things even worse.
I still have mine and I moved about three years ago. BF asked me the other day if he could burn them -- so that we could use the plastic storage container. LOL I said sure. So we won't be having them much longer. I didn't initially throw them in the trash because all the books have my name inside.

but I did have to burp after feeding. His belly would swell and I'd have to tap it with my fingers until he burped.
Rebel:
I told this to my fiancee and he laughed at me. He said a "mother cat doesn't burp the kittens". LOL Guess formula is a different matter than mommy kitty milk.

Thank you for the links. I printed out all the info. I also called the vet and asked about the fleas. As someone mentioned earlier -- a flea comb ONLY can be used. They are too young for anything else. Based upon my description to the vet, she said it sounded like they were less than 2 weeks old. She also said that I should "expect at least 2 of them to die". I will try my darndest to save all of them!

I wish I could be there to help you
I wish you could too. I feel like I am in over my head. That is until I go home and these five sleeping kitties are so helpless and then my motherly instinct kicks in and I do what I have to do. I will go buy a flea comb after work. It looks like I will be keeping these guys until they get adopted.

Help! They have fleas -- what can you do?

according to yesterday's (may 1) article in parade magazine, one of the main causes of dogs biting is a male that's not neutered.
we have a beautiful golden retriever that is about 10 months old.
sometimes he's out of control and i want to neuter the dog but my husband has steadfastly refused.
I think it is a "macho" thing for some people. I don't get it either. We couldn't wait to neuter our golden. We did, and he hasn't calmed down one bit. LOL
Some people do it for breeding purposes, but, in my humble opinion, there are already too many unwanted dogs and cats on this planet -- a responsible pet owner would spay/neuter.

This will probably screw up their digestion for a few days
I read somewhere that if they get "the runs" that I should only give them Pedialyte. Maybe I should check with the vet?

Please look into getting them all spade and neutered.
Absolutely!! The reason he didn't leave them there was that he didn't want to add to the ferral cat population. I am a big believer in "fixing" animals. And I am going to call the vet on my way home in a few minutes.
Cow's milk is very bad for them it messes up their digestion and will give them the runs.
I feel very bad that I did not know this last night. I now have the right formula and that is all they will get.
Thanks so much for all of your responses -- it is really helpful.

PS Did I mention that I am in the process of planning a wedding? Didn't need this extra stress.
