  from curtain up to curtain down he is masterful in relating his perceptions including politics and religion and the nature of living in the residue of both.

  he rails against inanity of the original venue ( the john f kennedy center for the performing arts) disallowing the use of its name in publicity, as mr. black's use of the f-bomb is prodigious and not in keeping with the character of the facility... he delicately points out the acutal kennedy for whom it was named was prodigious in the activity the f-bomb pertains to!.

  evicerates cheney just because he can..... hunting quail?

  I think that was on Comedy Central last night. We were watching it - going back and forth between ESPN and LB. We saw him live in SF about two years ago -- he is pretty damn funny. Love his parts on The Daily Show as well.

  American tax rebate: How will you spend yours? Will it help the economy?

  it appears that both political parties and economists are agreeing on the need for a tax rebate.

  the white house has a proposal in mind, and the democrats seem to be in line.. so will this help head off a recession?

  I don't want to worship a God that.............

  would kill billions of people for any reason.. would require family members to not speak to a member of their own family.. would require a parent to stone a child for being a bad boy.. would require probably millions of animals to be slaughtered and make smoke for him.. would let a rapist of a young girl have the privilege of marrying her.. would let mankind suffer for thousands of years to prove something to his heavenly creatures.. would let horrible "natural" tragedies occur, killing millions of people, when they don't have to happen.. would communicate to mankind by writing to them.....but not keep any originals around....like pyramids.. would want to be worshiped in the first place.....i just don't get it........................you can add your own if you want..........oompa.

  Would you go to the Memorial?

  since i was raised as a jw i have never missed the memorial.. now since i have been df'd i"m not sure whether i will go or not.

  my wife is still a jw.

  should i go for her sake or not?.

  I faded and moved out of the area. The first year I felt compelled to go to the Memorial because I had never missed one in my life. I went and boy was it awful. I skipped the next year and never looked back.

  You might feel some initial guilt in not going, but believe it goes away quickly.

  jon stewart.

  he's funny as hell.. he's spent the last three nights saying that the media's reports shades elections.. i heard a report of hillary having a "breakdown" jeez, it was not a breakdown.

  there was no snot or tears.. he wants the media to shut up, quit trying to be the first to know what america is thinking.

  sad start to our new years.....

  then if that wasn't bad enough, on new years eve, after going to the doctor as i was sick, i got home and pulled into our lane and got out to get our mail.

  as i was getting back into my car, a minivan passed by and i heard a huge "thud".

  i looked to see what happened and didn't see anything and the minivan kept going.

  i didn't!.

  i didn't even know i was supposed to.. does that mean my baptism is invalid and i am not a jw?...

  I never really knew what it meant to "dedicate" myself. I mean, didn't baptism show that I wanted to be a JW?

  I just got dunked along with 5 of my friends on the same day. Then we had a big party.

  i have gone thru phases with this.

  i sometimes have forced jw's who shun me to speak, or be embarrassed if they don't.

  then i let up on that as the hurting lessened over time.

  It all depends on who it is I see. Most of the time I will say hello and on many occassions I have received a warm response in return.

  One time I did ignore some JWs and I still haven't heard the end of it. I pretended not to hear them call my name as I went past in a busy shop. One was a relative who told another relative and it got back to me. Sheesh -- didn't know they wanted to talk to me THAT bad.

  I will shun or ignore certain elders when I come in to contact with them.

  Mostly, it depends on what mood I am in when I come across a dub.

  Did you read the whole Bible when you were a JW?

  after an informal poll in my congregation (and many awkward responses) i found out that almost nobody had read the whole bible ever, not even the elders (surprise!).

  brothers and sisters with 20, 30, 40 and 50 years as jws don't know what the bible says.

  so, if god decides that a test is coming, will they pass it?

  I Am Legend JW email

  so my sister-in-law, who is a pretty hardcore jw, showed me an email that looked like it had been passed around quite a bit, so i figured someone on here had probably seen it.

  supposedley it's a picture from the movie "i am legend" where will smith is walking through new york and all the buildings in the background are in ruins except for the bethel building, which stands out, undamaged and clean.

  i watched the movie and don't remember seeing anything like that so i just figured that some jw photoshopped it and sent it out to the jw community to show that the bethel building is protected by god even in a post apocaliptical world run over with zombie vampires.
