Definitely less this year. I am not buying anything for my husband and he (better not) be buying anything for me. We do not NEED anything else - we have plenty. We will get the kids a few things, but definitely not crap made in China.

ya a beautiful fall day here....trees ablaze with color...and a slight drizzle...me sippin yummy coffee...wife crammin her bookstudy book, then off to meeting and service........god she dresses up a lot!....i fogot how much i did that.....i have about $2000,00 of suits getting dusty in my closet if anybody needs a 42 long btw......so i just asked myself and sooo wanted to ask my wife "why are you really going out in service today?

1. jesus said we must go and make disciples, and it is the loving thing to do..........2. because the time is short and have to save as many as possible......3. because we love our neighbors ( but i cant frikin have them over for a grillout!).........
In the 30 years I was associated, I NEVER had a study. Never wanted one. Oh yeah, I would repeat the company line and wish for a study, but deep down, I didn't want the committment. In my final months, they were lucky to see an hour a month on my time card.

as some of you may remember i have been embroiled in a divorce for the past year and a half.
i had helped my wife to see the reality of the jws.
but she ran back to it and that complicated things.

they look so cute and are having so much fun!
my two are both out at halloween parties.
i am giving out candy until i go to work at 9pm.
I started out with 263 pieces of candy (according to the bags I bought). Between me, my husband and my daughter, we had about 200 pieces to hand out. I gave two candies per kid and I only had about 10 or 12 pieces at the end. Easily over 90 kids came to our door. Crazy - I think that was the most ever.

I do not think it would be considered tacky. You might want to google Miss Manners and see if someone has posed this question to her in the past.
I know people that request no gifts be brought, but, as an alternative, have information on the invitation about what charity to donate to instead.

she did not know at the time that he was a jw but he was passing out literature.
she thought it might be someone out campaigning for a political candidate.
I can remember being told not to start out the presentation identifying yourself as a jw. Didn't want the door shut right away, eh
Hell, I always told them right up front who I was in the HOPE that they would turn me away and I wouldn't have to say another word.

I still have friends that are JWs that associate with me. I can tell that most of them are "weak" and that is why we still have a relationship. I do enjoy seeing these friends and hearing about others i used to know. I never really come out and tell them what I think of the dub lifestyle and they don't ask. It works well that way.
