I have been reading a lot of the comments on the new childrens book released at the convention. I must say this book turns my stomach. You know, for years the WTS has demanded thier religious freedom in the courts and won many decisions based on thier First Amendment right to worship as they choose. They do this deceptively, by presenting themselves as a spiritually healthy religion. However, since 911, this country has focused on terrorism and its fearful threats against our society. We have become more aware of the impact of psycholigical threats of acts of violence against our cities, our people and our governmental, and historical institutions, our communities, our very families. I have heard on news reports that it is unlawful for the "burning" of a cross by those who believe that others are inferior to them, and anyone doing such an act is considered to be doing an act of terrorism by causing fear, and threat of death. So then, what about the religious freedom of those who would publish these acts of violence in pictures to the families, and children within thier religious community, in a psychlogically threatening way as to give the message that if you don't go along with our beliefs, you will be violently murdered, along with your government, your schools, your classmates, your non believing family members, your community. If you don't believe the doctrines of our religion you deserve to be dead, and you will be dead. I do not think the Supreme Court would agree with the pictures in the publications of Watchtower which it feeds to families within, while misrepresenting themselves in their communities. These death threatening violent pictures which the children grow up seeing and hearing is causing very harmful consequences on them and their parents who also live thier lives in fear of virtually everything. This is not religious freedom but religious terrorism and spiritual abuse. I wish more of this would come to the attention of the press, and the courts, because these things are being done under the guise of religious freedom. Does anyone here feel this way?

WTS Addresses Child Abuse - er, kind of...
by iiz2cool inmy wife, who is intent on re-activating herself as a dub since i da'd myself, went to the convention this past weekend.
she showed me this new publication entitled "learn from the great teacher", and placed great emphasis on these two pages i scanned and am posting.
it makes a poor show of telling children what to do when confronted by a child abuser.

SOJ, you are in the typical JW Bubble in your thinking. In this new publication it clearly misrepresents what the reality of the situation is with victims of sexual abuse by these protected perverts. They are threatened in so many ways that it is extremely difficult for a small child to go to anyone sometimes for many years. Physical threats, and psychological threats are what these victims face, and they usually are not confidently standing in front of the molester saying stop or I will tell.

JWs always become frightened....
by MegaDude in....when meeting a former member.. .

it was saturday and the jws were once again working my street.

I loved your post Megadude. I was recentley shunned by a dear freind who was also like a family member through marriage. I felt sorry for her because I knew she seemed so uncomfortable. It is so wrong this Org. insists they behave in such a way. I was kind to her when saying hello as we bumped into her, and when she shunned me and my daughter, I said to my daughter, "that is why we chose to leave this "unchristian org." I was kind of sorry I said it loud enough for her to hear me but it spurred deep emotions in me.

Ha! Great thread. I haven't been here for awhile. Lots going on in my house right now with some construction. But checking in to keep up with the latest evils of the Watchtower continues to remind me how glad I am to have seen through its lies. This is just another example. Unfortunately most members will stay in denial. But keep this thread going because there are those in doubt lurking here and are willing to research and prove to themselves the falseness of this Organization in being "clean". Their "love" of money has made them evil.

A deceiptful organization
by freedom96 inthere has been much debate over whether the people of the organization are good in general, or the ones who work at bethel.. i do believe that there are individuals involved both at bethel, and closer to home with the kingdom halls, that are exceptional in attitude and love for others.. but, somewhere, back at bethel, there is major deceiption going on.
we have books that have been reprinted with new, or taken away quotes.
there are c/d disks showing past magazines that are different than the original.

What if the Watchtower Changed .......
by IslandWoman inif the watchtower changed it's blood doctrine to one where publishers could do what their conscience dictated without fear of reprisals from the brothers, if they also quit using the two witness rule and said all criminal accusations must be reported to the police, if they stopped shunning, if they said all df and da'd could associate with their friends and family, if they apologized to ray franz and all others who were hurt by their policies; would exjws respect their dogma and refrain from putting down their religious beliefs to their faces?.
this is an important question, more important than you know.

If they changed about the blood issue, stopped shunning, apologized to Ray Franz and all sex abuse victims, I would still never go back. The issues you have mentioned are what initially made me question, and research everthing and I have come to the conclusion that their teachings are false, and spiritually abusive. My first discovery of this was when I researched "glorious ones" whom they say are elders according to thier publications. In my research I found that glorious ones mentioned in Jude are angels, not human. After that I found out about thier origins with the occult. Truth is not built on lies.

What kind of a Christian Organization claiming to be led by Christ and directed by God's holy spirit would hire lying lawyer sharpies amongst themselves to ruthlessly defend child molesters who have raped children in thier congregations? What kind of religious organization claiming to be Christian and "clean" would protect sexual predators and viciously attack, and ostrasize the parents and others who support these child victims? And what kind of religion has God's blessing when they use the tactics of corrupt lawyers driving around in Lexus's to depositions that attack the families and children of those speaking out about the pedophiles these lawyers are protecting. I will tell you what kind of religion it is. It has nothing to do with God. It is a publishing Corporation with members called "pulishers" who support it with their hard earned money because they believe it is a religion of God. But instead it is nothing more than a money laundering pyramid hiding behind the guise of a religion as it accumulates money, real estate and stocks. No wonder their lawyer sharpies are so ruthless, and no wonder they are being exposed by the media and the courts. They are desparate. They are the Watchtower Corporation. When we walked away from that religion after our own litigation over these issues, our lawyer said "he had never seen a more corrupt religion" and he was so glad we were breaking free. Yes the truth does set one free.

Kelpie & Rick
So very saddened for your experience over the loss of your baby. I and my husband have experienced the heartbreak of a miscarriage. Our prayers are with you at this time. I hope your mum will continue to support you and help you through this time. It sounds like she will. Just take one day at a time kelpie, and don't expect too much of yourself right now.
Love, ARoarer
