Aren't you ignoring the fact that "perfect" Adam himself sinned? Was he not "perfect" prior to his having fallen into sin? And what about Satan, wasn't he "perfect" before he began to do wrong things? Just because one is "perfect" doesn't make it impossible for the person to do wrong. People with a million years of life behind them CAN begin to practice badness. Satan is just such an example.

I was only responding to your answer that "stupid" people choose to smoke, despite the risk of cancer, when you were trying to explain why perfect people would follow Satan after the 1000 year reign. You are comparing apples/oranges, perfection/imperfection. You need to read posts carefully before you respond to them. I never said that it was impossible for a perfect person to sin. Those are the words that you expressed. The question was: Why would perfect people sin after they saw Satan losing to Jehovah? The theory is stupid. It makes no sense. Once again...People, according to the Society, smoke, or commit other sins because of imperfection. After the 1000 years, people supposedly will be perfect, so stupidity is not an option, it can only be willful, deliberate action. If you don't think so, try reading the publications. I have been out several years and I still know that crap.
Soooooooooo, back to Gumby's question: Why would a bunch of perfect people that cannot make stupid decisions, only deliberate wicked ones, choose to follow a being that got his ass kicked twice and was bound for 1000 years, then released by the powerful being that put him there? What circumstances are there that would exist that would make a (perfect) person bet on the underdog, Satan, after he has had his ass whipped repeatedly? Are they choosing the point spread on that one and can't resist the underdog paying big money? If I, an average, dumb, imperfect, person can see the odds on that one, shouldn't a (edited to read) perfect person be able to reason it out?
So if I have it straight, I have the choice to return to the Organization, put up with their corruption and bullcrap, wait for the day when I will be perfect, only to be dumber than I am now to the point that I can't reason out the impossible odds of Satan winning the whole shootin' match. Where do I sign up??????? The whole theory is the most ridiculous thing ever made up by religion. I hate to be redundant...but I am so happy to be free of the mind numbing stupidity of the Witlesses!

I almost forgot. In addition to all of the above, perfect people know that Jehovah can't lie and that his word does not go out from his mouth without results. So, once again, they can't reason that prophecies from Jehovah predict the demise of Satan (the bruising in the head)???? Now THAT's stupid. If I only could suspend all of my reason I could become an unreasoning animal again.

FDS Sends Convention Delegates Packin'
by ezekiel3 injehovah's witness across north america are being sternly counseled at this week's service meeting that they should pack lunches during the 2004 dictrict convention instead of leaving the site to eat elsewere or return with food.
in a letter read during the announcements, members are told this is a "serious problem".
reportedly jws have been banned from some convention locations because the venues want concession stand business if jws insist on bringing carry-out meals into the facility.

The following year they post brothers with compound bows and machine guns at all of the doors of the convention to enforce the no lunch/no break rule.
The following year upon hearing that a news team and senator will visit the conventions to investigate rumors of mass abuse, they bring back the armed brothers and the sisters are instructed to mix up some koolaid laced with cyanide.....

What scriptural reference would they provide to drink the Kool-Aid? How about a reference to the land flowing with Kool Aid and Honey?

Time to get on with it

there is so much i could say, and feel yet the need to say "what can i say"?.
it's so hard, and yet so simple, to "get on" with our exjw life.. damn that religion me all the more if i let them continue to influence my life.. it's over.. from now on, as far as my participation on jwd, it will be only and simply to cut the guts out of that pathetic sociopathological antisocial mind-controlling cult.. i hate what that religion has done to me, to my marriages, to my family, to my life.. i hate the wts, and i hate those that defend them.

I think it is important to note that just because someone vents, does not necessarily mean they have not moved on, it just means that something traumatic has happened in their life, or is still happening with the rejection that comes from family still in the Org. I remember well how many times, after some extremely traumatic events happened to us and we decided to fade, that the elders and others would visit us and say: "Just get over it...move on...men are imperfect".
What they did not realize is that we had moved on, but not the way they thought we should...we dropped out never to return. That did not change the fact that it had a profound effect on the way our family and friends reacted, like all dubs, and that our life had changed dramatically. How could it not after being "raised in the Truth" and staying for 36 years? Does it still affect our lives? Absolutely. Any abuse does. I just will not let it prevent me from pursuing happiness ever again. For many on this board, it is not just the fact that they feel they have wasted their lives, but rather that they still are getting stabbed by an organizational policy that forces rejection from family members. I don't know if one should, or could, get over that.
Most everyone who leaves the Org is going to experience many different feelings that have to be dealt with at some point. If these feelings are indulged to the point that they prevent the pursuit of a meaningful and full life for that person, then the argument could be made that they are not moving on. If they are pursuing whatever happiness they can, and yet vent some anger over abuse by the Org, I don't see a problem with that. Remember, we are all bonded together as survivors of an abusive cult and it is quite normal to acknowledge the abuse and the anger that goes along with it and still live happily.

Jamaican "Jerk" Chicken Wings
Marinade
:1 onion, chopped
2/3 cup finely chopped scallion
2 garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, crumbled
11/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup minced pickled jalapeno pepper, or to taste
1 teaspoon black pepper
6 drops hot sauce or to taste
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 cup vegetable oil
18 chicken wings (about 3 1/4),pounds, the wing tips cut off and reserved for another useMarinade: In a food processor or blender puree the onion, the scallion, the garlic, the thyme, the salt, the allspice, the nutmeg, the cinnamon, the jalapeno, the black pepper, the hot sauce, the soy sauce and the oil.
In a large shallow dish arrange the wings in 1 layer and spoon the marinade over them, rubbing it in. Let the wings marinate, covered and chilled, turning them once, for at least 1 hour or, preferably, overnight.
*You can cook these in the oven @ 450 degrees, but they are far better on the grill!*
Crack open a Red Stripe, put Marley on the CD Player, and chow on some wings and you'll swear you are in Jamaica

I often find that when people are unsure of themselves, or are envious of others, they tend to attack. I am sure that is why you feel the need to do so. If you would truly "reason" you would realize that if we are all dogs, then by your presence you are one of the dogs. You know the Society's stance on apostate sites, and yet here you are. Does frothing at the mouth and spewing generalities (which is classic dub behaviour) make you feel better? It may come as a surprise to you, but this site is a community just like any other community (JW's included). Which means that you will get a cross section of different personalities and morals.
You can choose to take part in whatever segment of the community that you would like. If you enjoy obscene jesting (which you apparently do because you read those posts) then fine. If not, then don't read them. Just don't block your eyes and ears when it comes to the WTBS. Reason on matters like the spiritual man that you are supposed to be and recognize the organizational flaws and hypocrisy. Will you continue to allow the Society to "tickle your ears"? If so, then follow what they say about sites like this one and run along.
I'll have you know in no uncertain terms that some of us are also violent, irreligious, irreverant, disrespectful, drunkards, revellers, critical, negative, wicked, mean, evil, and downright nasty.
Cheeses, that is priceless and will have me laughing to myself for the rest of the day when I think about it.
