okay, i know it is corny, but my daughter graduates college tomorrow, may 29th with a bachelor of arts degree, major fine arts.
she is an accomplished student and painter.
she took an extra year because while a full-time student she also worked 20-25 hours a week.. .
No, she was never exposed to the cult. But I was and the fact that she is graduating further reinforces my freedom to me. Does that make sense? probably not.

It very much makes sense. Abuse, by a cult or any other form, may have an effect on us, but we don't have to pass it on to our children and future generations. You have every reason to be proud. I am glad that you broke the cult cycle. Congratulations to you and your daughter!

i have not done a formal count, but there sure are a lot of people from those two areas.
is that because they are extremely large states or is there another reason?

Any theorys? Just curious.

i have always wondered why it cost so much to "rent" the space used for local special assembly days and circuit assemblies.... in our case, the society built a large assembly hall, on donated farm land (= free), in the middle of some corn fields 20 miles outside of columbus, ohio... the property has a couple of apartments where some of the travelling overseers live, who help with the upkeep of the building.
cleaning the building was taken care of because of our "privilege" to go out the day before the assembly to get it in good shape (free housekeeping and maintenance work).. so, the society owns the building.
it was built on free land.
It's those stage flowers and plants! You have the initial outlay, and then the cost of plant food. You don't realize how much those fertilizer spikes cost!
They always recouped that cost too by selling the plants at the end of the convention. What a joke!
