LOL I just edited to add carrots too, but you got me!
It is really cold and rainy here now, I think I will whip up a batch!
i've only made stew a couple of times, but am trying a new one today.
any of you ever used a recipe like this?
i'll let you know later on if it's any good.

The recipe seems to be missing Potatoes, celery, and carrots! To me, those 3 are the base to any beef stew.
If you ever do a stew that uses Potatoes, make sure to add the potatoes half way through the cooking of the stew, or they will be too soft and mushy. The same also applies to the carrots.
Bon Appetite
is it inside or outside?
any tips on one that is outside?
i may look for a "hot tubs for dummies" but in the meantime are there things that you wish you had known before you put it outside or before you got one in general?.
I had one for quite a while. I had mine outside. The upkeep is similar to that of pools. The PH has to be tested, and they require chemicals to remain safe to use. They also use a lot of electricity, especially if you want it nice and hot. If you use the blower to make all the bubbles, the hot water turns cool within several minutes due to the air being forced into the water to make the bubbles. I was excited when I got mine, and used it faithfully for a couple of months, but then I started using it less and less. I guess the thrill wore off. But even if you don't use it often, you still have to add the chemicals anyways. I ended up selling mine.
Maybe you are one of the people that would use it consistently, and it may be a good investment, but from personal experience, and the experiences of some others I know, it ended up being a waste of money...
going through some of my files... came across some photos of some artwork of mine... thought it might be fun to share with others here who are into art.
so post some of your artwork.
i painted this a couple of years ago... hope this works.... coffee .
Very impressive artwork Coffee Black and Homerovah! You are obviously Very Talented! I LOVE paintings, and enjoy the different feelings that get evoked when seeing nice artwork.
I am of the notion that virtually everyone is Artistic, but express it in different ways. Some use canvas, some sculpt, and some people, such as Interior Designers, etc. use other types of "Canvases". Being an Interior Designer myself, I use rooms as my Slate, and by Proper placement, etc, I create functional art that draws the eye. The same goes for Landscapers, Architects, Photographers, and the like. Even a person decorating a Christmas Tree is an artist. The World is a Palette, and just about everything in it can be used to express one's self artistically.
This should be a fun thread!
his mother passed last month and he is hurting.
i told him our little family here would support him through this.
he will be following this thread.
It sounds like you had a wonderful relationship with your Mother! You will surely have many happy memories of her to help you while you heal. I am sorry for your pain and loss.
Take care,
CJ

Reminds me of this song by Clay Walker called Chain of Love. I don't know how to do the Youtube link thingy, but here is the link. A very good listen. I have cried hearing it, especially the first time I heard it. Very Moving.

i hate it.
how are things in your neck of the woods?.
How did you fare? Only 1/4" of ice here. It snowed a tiny bit too, so there is a dusting of white mixed in. Skies here are now clear too, but COOOOLD! Low 20's right now. Hope everyone is careful if they have to drive today. Everything is slippery!
the guys in china that put the melamine in the milk and food products were just given the death sentence.
if they haven't been executed already, they will be soon.
the woman who was in on it got life in prison.
I used to love playing with Mercury when I was a kid. I had a handful of it in a big vial, and would love putting it in my hand and roll it around, poking my finger through it. It was very heavy too! Good times!
After reading this thread, I went into the pantry, and grabbed a bottle of Corn Syrup. I was sooooo excited to relive a part of my childhood! I poured a bunch into the palm of my hand and NOTHING. Just a big, sticky, runny mess.

Crazyblondeb,
We live in Oak Cliff, very close to Methodist! Overall, Dallas is a pretty nice place to live. I can see why you miss it sometimes! You should just move back down, I would love to have you as a friend!
If you ever visit, let me know, and we will get a group of us Warmhearted Dallas Apostates to meet for Dinner, or go to the Zoo, Museum or something. Actually the Tut exhibit is going on right now down here, and can't wait to go. There's always plenty of fun stuff to do here, as I'm sure you remember having lived here.
Crapola, I hope you fare well, and get to enjoy the beauty!
Take care, and stay Warm up there everybody!!!
