I think that part of the reason is that JW's are really worn out, and they are only going through the motions so as not to appear "Weak". I hear that many of them are on antidepressants too which only causes them to not feel, but rather just trudge along. Very sad. I make it a point to not "Hate" JW's (unless they are child abusers, etc), rather I feel very sorry for them as they are so misguided. The WTBTS is a different animal altogether...

"Get out of the bleachers and into the game"... Memorial 2012 demonstration.
by koolaid-man innow is a good time to start making preparations for the memorial night demonstration at your kingdom hall thursday, april 5, 2012, after sundown.. close to 20 million people will attend this annual global witness event including active witnesses, relatives and friends of witnesses, bible studies, return visits and still attached former witnesses.
the evils of the watchtower org.have to be exposed and this is an ideal time to do it.. many around the world have been adversely affected by their association with jehovah's witnesses and you can be an instrumental force by standing tall and courageously exposing the watchtower organization.. there is no better way to let the watchtower know your revulsion than to broadcast and present your view by standing fearlessly, demonstrating in front of a kingdom hall.. i am fully aware that a handful of the internet therapists who post on this forum will not agree with this method of unmasking the watchtower.. those intolerant, contemptuous critics who will comment on this thread making harsh judgements and finding fault with those who protest are perhaps deep-down wishing they had the backbone to stop hiding in cyber-space, step away from their computer and "get out of the bleachers and into the game" .
lets make this a global event!......

Thank you Rick! Due to this thread and your enthusiasm, my partner and I have decided to do some "Informal non-witnessing" at an ice cream parlor that will be filled to the brink with JW's after the Memorial this year. The parlor is just steps from the hall, so it will be a good opportunity to speak to others in a casual setting. Since it will be informal, we will not be using signs, but if you can recommend any small printable brochures it would be appreciated. If not, I will make up something myself, something simple and small so that anyone who is interested can nonchalantly tuck it away in their pockets or purses so as not to be seen by other nosey JW's.
I figured that I would play the part of someone who used to be interested in the JW's, but became disillusioned due to all of the child abuse. I will use the opportunity to plant seeds so that the next time someone else mentions it to them, or they begin questioning things, the seed will already have been planted and it may make them more open to researching things themselves.
I know that you are going to be picketing, so I wish you great success. Everyone has their own ways of doing things, and when it comes down to it, there is no right and wrong as long as it isn't hurting another. Unless you are planning on bopping people on the head with your signs-lol, I say more power to you! I laud the fact that you are doing something proactive even in the midst of the adversity you are getting from some others. Mouthy, as well as others on the board have done a lot of successful picketing, so those that are so fanatically against you may as well be saying the same things to all others who have done it.
Thanks again for the encouragement and motivation to help others!

Thank you Rick! If more people would have tuned in to your show the other night when the unfortunate Unthank scandal was going on, they could have asked him questions, and the whole drama could have been avoided.
Have a great day!!!

BEARDS: Why JW men don't have them
by 00DAD ini know this has been dished over before, but when i was doing some research i discovered a couple of interesting points.
as far as i can find, there is only one wt article that implies that jw men should not have beards.

That's a good one Sizmik! I would love to have seen her face when you said that!
I think that there were different reasons for not having a beard, and it depended on the congregation. In my congregation when I was growing up, we were taught that we could not have beards because Homosexuals usually wore them, yet another congregation would say that it was because of something else. So many different interpretations for a group that is supposed to be totally unified.

THANK YOU Steven Unthank
by cedars inohiocowboy has just posted this information on the two other threads dealing with the sudden collapse of the unthank cases.. i don't know steven unthank, but i just want to thank him from the bottom of my heart for having the courage against overwhelming odds to try and bring the watch tower society to justice over their deplorable neglect when it comes to protecting children from abuse and molestation.. steven is a man of justice and integrity who i deeply admire.
his actions will never be forgotten, and i only hope he can find it within himself to continue his work in whatever avenue may become available in the future.. they have won this battle, but they can never win the war.. .

Thank you for starting this thread Cedars!
Mr. Unthank, I am sorry that things didn't work out in the lawsuit the way that you or we had hoped, but you deserve special accolades for all that you have done! Looking back, the time that you have spent in this case trying to protect children has been very significant, and the fact that you involved yourself to the level that you did shows how much you truly do care for others.
In regards to the picture, I understand that when a person puts so much work and time into something, mistakes can happen and exaggerations may be unintentionally told, especially when there are a lot of emotions involved. I appreciate that you were quickly willing to apologize for the error.
Personally, I feel that an apology needs to be made to you. There were some people who did not take all of the good work that you have done into consideration, and instead chose to focus on one incorrect or misunderstood thing. I don't know why it happens, and I am sorry that it happened to you, especially at a time when you are probably worn out from all that you have had to deal with while giving interviews, doing tons of paperwork, blogging and going to court.
Dealing with all that you have over this court case, you appear to be a very strong willed person, so I am hopeful that the few who have chosen to not give you the credit that you deserve will not keep you from continuing to do your part in showing the WTBTS for what it truly is. There are a lot more people here that are for you than there are who may be against you. Again, I am sorry that some of the vocal ones who have nothing better to do have caused such a ruckus over the past couple of days.
If every person here (especially the complainers) did just a fraction of what you and others such as Barb, Randy, Rick, Jim Penton, etc. have done and continue to do, the SS Watchtower would be sinking quicker than the Titanic did.
Thank you again for all of your hard work. It really is appreciated!

How quick we are to turn and eat our own
by Aussie Oz inwell i am as shocked/disapointed as many here about the unthank cases out come.
he always said that the opp had the right to do exactly what it did.. the cases are/were real.
check the magistrates court records.

Well said, Aussie!
I hope that the Armchair Warriors have not influenced Mr. Unthank to leave. Unfortunately, history has once again repeated itself, and what is even worse is the fact that it will continue to happen until enough people take a stand against those who seek to pick others apart instead of looking at the overall picture and focusing on the positive things a person has done.
What a way to treat someone who has done as much as Mr. Unthank has!

Steven Unthank: What do we really know?
by SweetBabyCheezits ini'm gonna play the skeptic today on a topic that is painful for a lot of people on this forum.
my intent is not to stir anything up but to make sure facts are confirmed.
bear in mind, i'm sickened by the wt's role (and the heirarchy down to elders) in child molestation cover-ups.

SweetBabyCheezits, When you initially PM'd Mr. Unthank about your concerns, did he respond to you before you started this thread that has since turned into a huge public witch hunt/spectacle/embarrassment?
You did try to resolve this in private with him first, right? Right? If not, how would you (or any others) feel if someone called you out in public before privately trying to settle any questions they had? Really, how would you feel?

The below thread lists the Prosecutor as being John Chapman, but his real name is John Champion. Perhaps this could be one of the reasons for some of the cases not showing up. Accidents happen. I will not accuse anyone until I get all of the facts, and hopefully it is just a spelling error. Mr. Champion probably thought WTF when he opened his emails today and saw a bunch of letters from us addressed to John Chapman!
Why did my other thread disappear?
Personally I don't think that Mr. Unthank scammed us, and I hope that this gets sorted out soon.
Edit to add: Koolaidman, you are NOT an idiot for posting that people had the option to get answers from Mr. Unthank by calling in to your show. In fact, thank you for providing a venue that allows people to get answers straight from Mr. Unthank, as well as other questions they may have.
