How convenient! This comes at a time when Obama's numbers are in the toilet, and the US is looking for an excuse to go to war yet again. I have a feeling another False Flag attack is in the works.

Getting rid of HUGE JW library
by jukief inmy husband, alanf, started collecting jw literature about 20 years ago when he began his indepth research into the religion.
his collection includes just about everything the society has ever published, from books and magazines down to booklets, pamphlets, and handbills.
some pieces are quite rare.

Some books are literally worth hundreds of dollars each. There is a book called "Three Worlds" that is worth several thousands of dollars. Early Russell handbills go easily for $100+. The first 4 bound volumes of the Watchtower, 1879-1916 go for $1200-$1500 on Ebay. Daily Heavenly Manna, PhotoDrama, Hymns to Jehovah, etc. easily go over $200 each in good condition. If you do not want to put the things on Ebay yourself, take them to a shop that does Ebay for you, and they will take anywhere from 25-40% depending on what you agree upon. Early JW books are going for great money on Ebay, and there are bidding wars on the good, rare things. If you want to recoup a nice chunk of money without having to work for it, that is the way to go. Don't let people tell you that the earlier stuff isn't worth anything, it is! The last 90%+ complete collection sold a few years ago for over $30,000 and that was to a dealer, and the collection didn't have the smaller items-handbills, etc.. He in turn made a nice profit from that! In order to get the good money, you need to keep the collection as complete as possible. It is often the books that you don't think are worth anything are many times worth the most.
Good luck!!!

Did You Ever Make the Pilgrimage?
by Quendi inhow many of you have ever visited one of the branch offices or world headquarters of jehovah's witnesses?
i was an active witness for nearly thirty years and was associated with the cult for more than thirty-five before finally walking away for good last year.
during all those years i never made a trip to brooklyn bethel.

I went to Bethel for a visit, and I had the priveledge of having lunch with all of the Bethelites. To my dismay though, Liver was the main course. Of all days, I chose a Liver day. Had I only known. Of course I had to eat it all, as I didn't want to waste something that Jehovah had provided and was lovingly cooked by one of Jehovah's chefs. Right then and there I should have realized what my future held as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

I just can't do this anymore
by Awen indear friends:.
for years now after my exit from the wtbts i have searched for god.
as i have previously mentioned in other threads i looked into many other religions, including druidry, zen and tibetan buddhism (not really a religion), asatru, native american shamanism, kemetic orthodoxy, gnosticism and pandeism.

Awen, I am a "Don't know" person too. It gets really frustrating at times too, as I'm sure you are aware. All I can say is to search your heart, and be open to other viewpoints. Actually, Aguest has a very strong faith, and her reasoning on things makes one think about things relating to God and to life in general. She has caused me to think again about a relationship with God, but I am still at the point that I just still "Don't know" about things, but at least I am considering the idea again because of her.
Just know that you are not alone, and that many of us are "In the same boat". This board can be a good place, as there are so many different viewpoints you will be able to read about and come to some conclusions. Just be patient, and don't expect answers to come to you overnight.
I wish you the best on your search!

Here's a good one the Jehovah's witnesses are worse than Nazi's
by Star tiger ini'm not sure if this is a controversial subject or not, i suspect it is, the 1936-1945 nazi regime were the most evil b*****d's in the world and thankfully were destroyed, however the jehovah's witnesses having sufffered under their rule, then became even more evil not by destroying the person's physical life, but destroying their way to god, if a person leaves then they become dead to god, and this from a second rate publishing company!
please don't think i'm being flippant about all the suffering and death the nazi's caused, but as we are most of us spiritual people, surely the witnesses caused a catastrophy in the post 1945 era.. best regards,.

One of the most sickening things the Watchtower did was coddling and sympathizing with Hitler, and even agreeing with what the Nazi regime stood for. The 1934 Yearbook is one of many publications that the Watchtower wishes were not still in existence, as it shows them for who they really are.

what has the watchtower society done to benefit mankind?
by bigmac inwhat i mean is---has the wts/jw's/ibsa-- or whatever organisation or legality they hide behind---ever done to really benefit some sector of humanity on a practical basis?---.
it must be me--but i really cannot see some poor person--starving in a third world famine--regarding the chance of a free home bible study as high on their list of priorities..

They have shown other religions how NOT to do things!
They have forced the medical industry to come up with alternative and sometimes creative ways of saving lives without having to use blood. I am not saying that it was all due to the JW's, but they did have a part in it, no matter how small. On the flip side though, any good they have done has been overshadowed by the deaths they have caused due to their archaic blood doctrine. So I guess it is a wash...
