Here's my wish for the World.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmF2rsDHOZc
Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee;
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies.
Well, I'm all grown-up now,
And still need help somehow.
I'm not a child,
But my heart still can dream.
So here's my life-long wish,
My grown-up Christmas list.
Not for myself,
But for a world in need.
No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.
As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree.
Well Heaven surely knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul.
No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.
What is this illusion called the innocence of youth?
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth.
No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end, oh.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.
This is my only life-long wish.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.Merry Christmas everyone, and may you have a New Year filled with Love, Warmth, Peace, and Happiness!!!

why you think the USA has 74x the UK gun homicide rate
The population of the UK is appx. 63 Million.
The population of the USA is over 332 Million.
Of course there are going to be more shootings, there are a LOT more people. Your whole country is the size of just one of our 50 States!
Then, compare the OVERALL crimes in the UK, not just guns, and you will see that the figures aren't as extreme as you are trying to portray.

Anyone else like to sew??? What kind of Machine do you use???
by ohiocowboy ini'm ready to get my sewing machines out of hiding, and will be sewing once again this winter.
i'd like to start quilting again, as it is fun to do, eases stress, and is healthier than just sitting in front of the tv.
i have even designed a few items of clothing in the past that i have sold, although i am by no means another madeleine vionet or issey miyake-lol.. i've always liked sewing machines even as a child (much to the dismay of my parents-lol), and there are a couple favorites that i have had for many years.

Thanks for the tips, Still thinking! I think I will try it again the way you said. I have the perfect fabric to do them for my bedroom, and I already have a couple rolls of iron on tape, and the rods and rings will be easy to get. They will look awesome if they turn out! Yay, another project-lol
Mrs. Jones, Glad you are finding the machines you want! I'll let you know about any neat or unusual ones I see.
Those flags are awesome, FHN!!! Wow, there's a lot of them. I bet it took a while to cut and sew all of those. Even with several people it would be a lot of work! They are all so nice that I can't decide which ones are my favorites, although the Orange and Gold ones and the Fleur de Lis really catch my eye(s)! Thanks for the pictures, you must be very proud! P.S. You are a very good photographer.
Hello Clarity! Isn't it crazy that people would pay so much for a pair of jeans? A person could buy a very nice used car for that much money! You can't drive a pair of jeans, the butt on them would get worn out-lol Yes, you can still get the bullet bobbins, I just saw them on Ebay the other day. You gotta be careful with the bobbin holder though while loading or unloading it in the machine. I had my foot on the treadle one time while I was loading mine, and just about had a big hole punched through one of my fingers when my foot slipped on the pedal! Maybe that's why they changed them to round so that they wouldn't be so bullet like and pointy sharp.
Thanks for the comments and pictures everyone!!!

Hi LKL! Wow, that's a lot of firepower! I know you believe in gun rights, so I thought you would like this. Here's an interesting speech given by a Father who lost his young Daughter in the Columbine massacre. In it, he talks about the NRA and gun rights. There are some things in there about God and Spirituality, but even if you may not be a believer, there are things in there he says that you will find of possible value and merit.

What rumors have you heard about yourself since leaving?
by donny ingood morning all,.
i have had the opportunity over the last couple of years to speak with a couple of jw's who had either attended the same congregation i did or were married to someone who to the same one.
for the record, i disassociated myself in 1992 due to being followed around by an elder or two who had heard that i had ray franz's "crisis of conscience" in my possession.

I heard that I had my ears pierced and wore earrings, which I never did.
My Parents told people at the hall that I had died, and I still get people contacting me on facebook saying how amazed and shocked they are that I am really alive. Some of the rumours were that I had been killed, and others thought that I had died from AIDS.
JW's Looooove to gossip!!! It's one thing that they are incredibly good at.

Here's an old thread about sewing from over 8 years ago! It was shortly after I first started posting here, and was still living in Dayton, Ohio at the time. Time flies!

Mrs. Jones, I was just looking at some sewing machines on Ebay, and here is one that was made for you!!! It is a Jones Brand! Look how ornate and beautiful it is! I wish that I was rich, I would buy it for you for X-mas. Maybe when I win the lottery-lol
Here's another one that allows you to zoom in really close on the pictures.
