OK, Let's think this out

let's say.......there is no god, the bible is not inspired by god........ but.

what is written is being played out.. is what is written being played out?.

why don't we change the future?.

My 18 year old and I had a similar discussion the other night about the bible surviving, M's take on that was that of some humans needing a guide to make it through life, and as has been said there are some "infected" with a desire to keep the god of the book alive, and as M said that god is interpreted in many forms and fashions, some evil some good. Some humans in this endless quest to make a "purpose or reason" for their existence keep their version of this god alive. Keep rolling out the bibles, and as some thinking ones see a need to prove those other thinkers wrong! they come up with there own take on the whole concept.... "as in, look how many dates have been set by for destruction* armageddon* not just by jw's (I might add.)

Boils down to what I think, a lot of it is man made.

What has Changed the most? This board or your perspective?

we seem to go thru 'phases' here of 'i'm leaving because the board is changing' threads.

there is certainly a microcosm of social-evolution involved with any structured community, and that evolution may create in certain people a need to 'move on' [though often they are back rather soon after].. my assumption is though - in looking at the past threads and social environment here - that not much has really changed.

there seems to be a flux of energetic change at times.

Me and how I percieve things/words, my values are still moral and the people and parts of me that I hold dear to me are still just as valuable to me as ever, But I have more tolerance and I have grown from meeeting to and chatting with people that are genuine so I have been fortunate.

Having said that . I do recognize that some do not move on. Some are happy where they are and no amount of badgering or pushing can change a person, Bullies are just that way to control people so it's up to us to not let anyone do that.

As with me I have had a whole lot of AH-HA moments. An epipheny if you will, sometimes of dramatic preportions.

As has already been stated, I notice the flow and eb of posters changing. One thing I admire is that the board has been able to stay with it's original plan. But then new election are soon to be done here on the USA so if you weren't here last prsidential election stick around for a whole new take on rudeness and bad mouthing each other. <> had to ad that since I survived last pres, election but lots of posters left the board during that rucuss or soon after.

I am easy to please anything from your area would be great, in the past I have recieved a great assortment of finds that thrilled me, I'm a tea drinker,one time someone sent me a tea pot and a variety of teas from their area, I love hummingbirds. Someone sent me a Cloisonné hummingbird christmas ornament that I treasure, I've gotten maple sugar from the area the poster lived. I got a metal christmas ornament made by a blacksmith thats really cool, my tree has definatley a one of a kind look. I have delicate wire butterflies from Europe that are lovely. I also have fairies that hang on the tree. all of these are things I collect also.

you just get your hands all wet washing something and the phone ringsyou just picked up something with both hands and your nose gets itchyyou just get all settled in to do something cosy like watch a movie and you realize you forgot something important that you must do immediatelyyou just sit down for dinner and the phone rings you just started your last load of laundry and turn around to find a pile of things you forgot to addi know there are many many more.

You launder a throw rug and somehow a papertowel got in the wash and now the washer is full of towel bits and the rug is covered in it too.... Yes just happened to me

Holidays - How do you feel?

as holiday time approaches, many of us ex dubs have mixed feeling going on in our head.. are you happy and excited because now you can celebrate the holidays with family (maybe) and friends, or are you depressed or just ambivialent about the whole thing?.

it took my a few years just to feel comfortable wishing someone a happy holiday, and a few more years before i actually celebrated a holiday.. now i celebrate every holiday, and i am always excited about the event, although i don't place any spiritually/religious meaning towards the event and i just enjoy the chance to socialize with family and friends.. what about you?.

The first couple years after leaving the JWs I/we didn't as a family decorate, shop, send cards nothing! then we asked why not?

I do not have a religious affection for the holiday, I'm all about the lights and tree and giving, make an extra effort to be more of what I am all year long 'happy' I agree it's a really cool time for us to all be together as a family. We do everything we want to now, guilt and shame free and we are loving it. All of it from putting up lights to shopping in the after christmas sales, and we're loving it.

Do you condemn the Society's no-blood policy and still do not DONATE BLOOD?

it's your decision to make.

it would be as wrong of this community to insist everyone donate blood as it is of the cult to insist otherwise.

I give everytime I can, I was in Europe just before my first donation but the area and timing were fine,I think the questionaire here asks if you have visited Europe within a ceratin time frame. since I am O-negative I get phone calls when the supple in FT, Smith shows low, seems the type is in need for babies. so when I get a call and there is a mobile nearby I donate, unless as has been mentioned I am anemic, which happens, I take it as a reminder to work on my iron intake.
