I had three such meetings: for buying and reading pornographic magazines, and then twice for saying things about the org they didn't quite like, and after the third meeting I gave in my letter of departure.

At the age of 12 I was caught sholifting in a toy shop, they called the police and I was taken to the local police station where a policeman called me stupid. The most embarassing part was when my father came to pick me up and on the way home he had quite a go at me about how I had humiliated him, and I was to have no pocket money for a week.
At the age of 13 some other school mates and I would sit at the bottom of a staircase to watch a female teacher going up every morning that she came in. She was wearing rather short skirts and the idea was to see her knickers as she went higher up. Eventually she realised what we were doing and made a scene in the classrom that was calculated to humiliate us. -

first post, need to purge my feelings!
by Krista inthis is my first post and here's my story.. my father became a witness long ago and my mom remained a lutheran.
our attendance was sporadic due to mom's opposition.
they knew our mom was lutheran and that she kept us from attending many meetings.

At last finished reading Crisis of Conscience
by diamondblue1974 in.
and what an eye opener it was...dont get me wrong i faded some 10 years ago and the reasons for such were contained in the book, i.e 1914, failed prophecies and so forth.. the expose is disarming by its objective style and whilst i now read any literature through sceptical eyes i could see a person genuinely grieved by what had taken place and the crisis he was subjected to conscientiously; it said it all to me when he said that his aim was not to divert people from the jws but give them support so they could develop as christians and therefore allow them to come to their own conclusions (or words to that effect).. extremely well written and consise with reams of references (which i happen to love).. anyone that is recently out must read this book...it objective, honest and was totally surprising in parts.. db74

So Diamond what were some highlights in the book that you liked most?
I didn't read it but from what I heard about it it's the voting by the GB to decide on vital and at times potentially lethal issues that makes them appear as the spiritual charlatans that they really are. Where is the unanimity of the Spirit in the spirit directed FDS? To some it says vote yes and to others it says vote no. -

Is it better to just LEAVE or FIGHT?
by ljwtiamb inalthough, i have not been victim to the same level of damage from the wts as many of you on this site, i have noticed that it is very difficult to fight such a large entity with deep pockets and passionate (though misled) supporters.. .
since i am still in the very early stages of leaving/fading, i wonder:.
i have already spent the vast majority of my life sacrificially serving the interests of this org.

Once you stop making any kind of contribution to the WTS you have already deprived them of something, thereafter you can decide over time if and when and to what extend you will fight them.
You may feel emotionally exhausted now but maybe not after a year. -

It is also possible to take your personal walkman or cd player and listen to an enlightening apostate talk as the jw speaker goes on with the non sense prepared by unknown mind manipulating individuals in Brooklyn.
Evanescence I think red bull contains caffeine anyway. -

My First Post
by Stress Free ini have been a regular visitor to this forum for the past 2 years or so, finally i got the courage to register.. you guys are an inspiration , your stories and experiences have helped me to take a stand against this controlling org.. in short, i was raised from birth as a jw, parents are from the old school very much hard liners, the society is their god.
is expected of you, get baptised as a teenager become a ms then elder.
i always had my doubts about the society and its teachings but was.

Congratulations for the bold steps you took it's better to accept the truth about the borg and be shunned rather than live a lie everyday.
The JWs are basically like most religions they want to control and exploit people but do so very aggressively. -

I enjoy being on the board but I can't say that I am addicted to it since it doesn' t stop me from doing other useful things. For me though it's also exciting because it is the first board where I really got involved in the activities of cyberspace community.

What? So Korah gets rez now? What about me? I'm an apostate too....
by IP_SEC inok, one of the most famous apostates in dub lore is who?
korah!
along with dathan, and abriam.

It's morbid how they try to rely on outdated old testament mentalities to find support for their cultish perceptions. This story with Korah is pure psychological warfare against the R & F calculated to intimidate.

Prove to me that the Watchtower is the "Faithful +discreet slave class"
by hubert in.
i credit this to "cinemablend" for giving me the thought.. prove to me that the watchtower is the "faithful and discreet slave class', to which the j.w's have to obey down to the letter.. who can "prove" or "disprove" this?.

From their overall mindset and behaviour it is obvious that they are total fakes from Russell to the present, they are not faithful nor wise nor humble and they beat and exploit the sheep, they are the heartless evil slave disguised as the FDS.
