There were some really caring people in the congo but very few, about 5 or 6 out of about 80. The rest were very cold even frozen fruitcakes.
The top people could not inspire love because they have none and the R & F imitate their example.

Topless girls (sisters), are the ultra stern and ultra conservative GB losing their grip on European congos, it's a good sign, apart from being good for the emotional health of JW males.

From what Gopher wrote we can see why a part of the JWs are satisfied with their life in the org, they have a social life and enjoy it. The rest have no reason to be there and suffer isolation. Might as well go back to old family and friends.
They falsely promise to all interested people a loving brotherhood upon leaving the world and accepting the "truth" -

What are your goals in life that don't involve the WTS?
by John Doe ini'm just curious.
i know this is a wts discussion forum, but by some posts, it seems as if the wts never leaves some heads.
also, a lot seems to be conspiracy theory.

Exploitation of brothers & sisters
by LouBelle inin the past i visited bethel and got to 'tour' around.
here men & women worked their asses off every single day - a full 8 & 1/2 hours a day.
they had to make sure they were up at the crack of dawn to attend the reading of the day text.

They may genuinely believe that they serve God, but serving this org is in fact serving Satan once we take note of the harm it has been causing to its followers blood doctrine, broken families etc

by DannyBloem ini have some serious questions here.
i am still a jw but fading away slowly.
still have some privileges etc, but that will not be too long i suppose.

It's better to prove to them that the WTS as a religion is no good by educating them in the details of its history, it has clearly been deceiving and exploiting its members for over a century now.
As for the theory of evolution a deist can see in it as many holes as an atheist in a Creator God concept. -

The sins of scripture by John Shelby Spong
by moanzy inhas anyone read this book?
john shelby spong is a retired bishop who is trying to expose what religion has done to scripture by how they interpret them.
in chapter 25 on the bible and certainty he writes " my contention, which i will seek to defend in this section of the book, is that the moment any religious tradition claims certaintly, it turns demonic.

There is nothing wrong with the Scriptures themselves but rather when they get wrongly interpreted and applied eg the JWs and the blood issue.
Generally religion has always been taken over and used by selfish people as a means to serve their own personal ends of glory and wealth. -

Something that makes them want Bethel service is because they become Bethelites and that gives them status in the eyes of the congo.

You did make the right decision, on balance there is nothing much to be had from the JWs especially since their major lures eternal life and paradise (through the FDS) are nothing but a fabrication to draw in and exploit naive individuals.
In the here and now they have nothing much to offer especially brotherly love and support. -
