australian doctors have kept an italian tourist alive by feeding him vodka through a drip for three days, medical staff in queensland say.
The blood for transfusions is not obtained in a way that would harm let alone kill the donor and this is a crucial difference between this instance and the instance where the animal is killed and loses its life. Something as simple as this has completely gone over the head of the JWs.
In one instance a donor willingly gives blood to in fact save a life, in another an animal loses its life against its desire to live.
i have always loved it when the seasons changes.
i was always told that we would have temerate weather all of the time and the seasons wouldn't chage.
i always thought i would miss the changing leaves, budding flowers after it has been so cold, and the snow.
I never thought about it because deep down I never really believed in it. What's more as I realised later Biblically there is no such destination for the Christian believer because they are all bound for heaven. The earthly class is a purely JW cultic creation.
The JWs where I was believed that there would be seasons as there are now, there just wouldn't be great temperature extremes.
currently, congregations in the us might have an average of less than 5 elders each.
a large number of elders are debilitated by age or chronic illness.
in addition, i knew of many elders.
I think the elders are getting fed up with the inability of the org to deliver on its promises, no paradise, no immortality, they remain as elusive as the wind. They would be more tired of the whole clownish show because they have to work that much harder than the R&F.

as many of you may remember, last year our cute "frosty" was attacked and our home and car egged by jws on new years eve.
it's hard to believe another year has almost passed.
It's great fun Christmas, to some that weren't JWs in their childhood it brings back pleasant memories. This year I will be buying an artificial tree whereas in the previous ten years I was using real trees. The dubs banned Xmas just to create a sense of alienation towards the rest of society, to raise emotional walls.

Obviously at the time the WTS was not against all and any political authority as being from satan as is their current position, I suppose back then a JW could be a politician without getting DFed. They later assumed a totally negative attitude towards all political institutions, but when?
i joined this site about a week ago and have enjoyed reading all the posts and chatter.
i was raised in the jws, baptized at 17 (didn't know any better) but once i got married and had a baby, i just didn't have enough time to go to all the meetings during the week.
we got the "shepherding calls" and pretty much were looked down on for not going to all the meetings.
Welcome Tere, surely the JWs overemphasise their preaching work to the extend that it becomes a central part of their identity and not to preach the JW gospel becomes equivalent to not being a JW though otherwise a non preaching person may hold high moral standards.
after the sunday culttower study is over, everyone will be expected to preach because the end is soooooooo close!.

They wouldn't stop the Sunday talk because that is one of their main venues for mind conditioning the dubs. Not even for the sake of exchanging it for preaching time.

the christian church began as an entirely jewish enterprise yet today there is no such a thing as a christian jewish church certainly not one that has an uninterrupted line going back to apostolic times.
it is the gentile one that continues to this day.
so isn't that surprising?
Oompa it's fascinating to know why the jewish church that gave rise to the gentile church and is therefore the mother church of christianity has itself disappeared.
Narkissos, there is a lot to think about in your post I will check out some history, your view is that early christianity was not a coherent group as presented in the Gospels/Acts but I doubt that there wasn't a standard faith beyond the Jewish christian/gentile christian split over the applicability of the mosaic law over christians.

I didn't know that Naomi was brought up as a JW. Her mother calls it a christian faith but under the surface it is not.
The JWs are a judgemental religion seeing the number of members that get expelled for trivial reasons eg christmas and birthday celebrations and the way they shun them.
