  i have been fading away, and considered fully "inactive" for over 2 years now.

  my wife is still a very active jw, and she brings my 2 children (5 & 3) to the meetings and service on a regular basis.

  Quasimodo and JWs

  today i was driving my daughter to school and we were listening to the hunchback of notre dame soundtrack.

  one of the songs (that i have previously heard dozens of times before) struck me... it seems to me that it has lots of similarities with the jws (or any other cult)... .

  context: frollo (compare him to the "fidel and discreet slave") is this religious man who has raised quasimodo the hunchback (compare him to a rank and file).

  WT Article on Mennonites - Wow... Double Standards

  i usually don't read wt or awakes, but i stumbled on an article that shows the borg's two-facedness.. the article talks about a group of mennonites that had doubts about their religion and wanted to study with the jws.

  after the first paragraph, i realized that i had felt exactly like those poor mennonites when i decided to study the jw's history.

  Need a recommendation for a good book re: Proving the bible wrong

  i am trying to find a good book which would explain why the bible cannot be inspired by god.. (for example, a book that would dissert the bible and illustrate its contradictions, etc.

  i know there are lots of those out there, but which one did you enjoy reading?.

  i have to say upfront that i am not sure about anything at this point of my life (i.e.

  i saw horrific pictures the other day about the floods that just occurred in dominican republic.
