  WAKE ME UP PLEASE

  i just didn't get the quality of sleep last night i should have (nor the hours either) and today i am just dying.. .

  driving to work this morning i had to be so careful to stay awake, so as not to have an accident.. .

  and doing that for what took today an hour and 45 minutes to get here was toooooo long.. .

  have you become a Christian since leaving the JW's.....if so why?

  many people i have spoke to on this site have found that becoming part of a christian group since leaving the witnesses has been of benefit to them.

  i must admit at times i have considered visiting other churches or religions, but have not acted upon it.

  but i am curious as to what's out there.. can anyone enlighten me?.

  Ok here is a thought that some of you may have had and maybe you can enlighten me or have a few suggestions for me. First of all I am like some of you where I am concentrating on healing from 36 years of being in jdubdom. Because of the hypocrisy I have seen and that I cannot trust what men have to say especially when it comes to interpreting what the bible means as I have seen it twisted in all manner of ways. Also I have some problems believing that the bible is accurate as well. Men have been translating it for centuries and who is to say that even in old manuscripts things were changed to fit the writers own preferences and with a little adulteration over time here and there and I wonder what should I believe and what shouldn?t I? I certainly can?t trust any man (or woman as the case may be) to tell me how to interpret it. Who is God? I certainly believe in a creator but who and what is he? Is he just some higher intelligence is he the God of the bible or the Koran or is he the God?s of Hinduism? I don?t know. I have seen how men have used religion to control others and I am just totally turned off on it. I have people I work with who are totally controlled by their religion and swear that what they believe is the right way. How can I believe that if God is love like the bible says that he would only accept the minority of the world?s population just because they claim to be Christian? Hasn?t religion only caused wars and hatred? Haven?t men in the name of Christ done horrible things? I try to be a good person, treat others respectfully like I want to be treated and I give to charitable organizations that I believe in. According to most Christians though my not accepting Christ as my savior means I will miss out on an afterlife of happiness. I don?t believe our creator wants us to do things for what we will get in return. Maybe I am jaded and most likely am wrong in my opinions but I have such a hard time accepting the nice neat little box that so many accept as their religion.

  ???? For Former Elders re: Comittee meetings

  a recent thread made me think.

  are there guidelines to judicial comittees that say a minor can not be questioned without a parent or guardian present?

  i remember my sister was left alone in the room with 3 older men during her jc when she was only 17. when i was 13 my best friend got in to trouble, and they questioned both her and i alone.

  When I was 17 I was involved with a girl and of course everyone can imagine we did the things that are viewed as wrong in jdub land. My parents asked if they could sit in on the committee and since the elders who were presiding were somewhat harsh I didn?t mind but they were told by the elders that they couldn?t sit in and that they should not even come near KH while the meeting was going on. I had turned myself in and was willing to confess everything, since I truly believed that was the right thing to do. Needless to say they spent hours going over every detail of what I had done to the point that they kept hammering me every detail, where I put my fingers, how far, and so on and when I couldn?t remember all of the details I was told that unless I confessed everything and stopped trying to hide things that they would have no other choice but to df me. Finally I confessed to doing things I don?t remember doing just so they would ease up on me. It seemed that they were getting off on it and I couldn?t tell if they were getting off on the power they had over a 17 year old or the sexual content of the confession. The whole thing lasted 4 hours and when they eventually asked me to step out so they could discuss their decision it took them all of 3 minutes to decide they were only going to reprove me so I guess I must have fed their perverted hunger enough. After that I determined that I would never again sit in front a JC again. No matter what the headquarters or the elder book tells them local elders can do what they want in these situations. If they feel they can bully the parents without much of a fuss many times they will.

  this isn't a religious topic or even important, but i figured that there were so many other posts about miscillaneous subjects that i'd post my own.

  i have a receding hairline, so i shave my head twice a week or so and i usually keep a goatee.

  Emails from elders and CO

  yesterday i decided to send an email to all the elders, ministerial servants, co's and do's on my address book.

  blondie had posted a series of links to articles relating to the abuse cases in the borg.

  rather than emailing the links, which i knew they wouldn't click on, i copied and pasted, about 12 articles to them.

  Of course the organization has it?s hand so far up the asses of the people you sent it to that they are going to give you the pat answer the organization gives them and that?s just the way they want it.

  i really must be on here too much - 4000 posts and counting.. supreme one seemed so far away, not that long ago.. now it's a mere 1000 posts away - a drop in a bucket, six months at most, surely.... it seems so long ago, that i protested giving up my light-saber in preference of the fullness of "the force" imbued by the "emperor class".. and now another impending transformation.... to which i say.... .. .. .. .. .. .. ..

  Congrats...Of course I am only posting this to add to my massive post count. When do you start paying attention to the numbers. Maybe it's all the jdub training, you know knocking on doors 10hrs per month is not enough always have to do more. 6 million brain washed victims is not enough they have to bring in more. Numbers....Numbers....Numbers...it's all about the numbers.

  Does Jesus being the "Son of God" mean that he is not God by nature ?

  Jesus is not greater than God simply because it appears that his sacrifice was greater. God cannot die, if he did we would all cease to exist as well since he is the source of life. Since he cannot die then he made the largest sacrifice he could make, his first born creation, something he loved dearly. Jesus is a God but kind of like in the Bill Murray Groundhog Day way, he is A God not THE God. Or maybe it is like Luke Skywalker in that he has much of the same force that his father has or maybe I have been watching too many movies
