There are several things....
by sweetone2377 inthat i've been thinking about lately.. since jesus was a perfect man, how can anyone realistically be expected to follow in his shoes?
why use him as an example of standing up to tests and remaining faithful?
we are, after all, imperfect humans.. c.t.

I just think that I'm no more thoughtful about God and life and religion than a bag of potato chips. I hope to become a good, spiritual man someday, I'm just not going to do it in an org.
And, I want to stop being angry about the past. That's it i think. I have a lot of growing to do.

Read this book
by ashitaka inpeople have had questions in recent threads about christianity, and how judgemental it is, etc.
read "mere christianity" by c.s.
lewis, it's a beautiful book, although a bit dry(it's also 60 years old, so don't come back to me yelling if you think his views are out of date).

I'm never using caps again, you'll start thinking that I'm a preacher of that old time gospel hour.

hi sweets,
i think we're just supposed to get the gist of his life and emulate it, just a copy, but better to copy a perfect man than try to lead life without a role model. Some would say that our minds can make an ideal and when we pursue that we are finding ourselves in that moral model....I still read the account of his death with tears in my eyes, THEY couldn't wring it out of me. I am not in a religion now; that's why I certainly can appreciate it.
Being out is wonderful. No more putting magazines above the words of christ. I'm just a stupid 22 yo kid, but I think now we're closer to GOd than even before, because organizations distance us from beauty, and put rigor in front of love.
I think Jesus is the poetry of God, in every way, written down in flesh and blood. Although I haven't been doing much to please him I still love, although I'm very misguided.
It's very obvious that the WT has other plans for it's followers, other than teaching about Christ.
Thanks for the post, sweets.

You are harming loyal JW
by beroea inyou are harming loyal jw.
i have been taken a closer look at many of the posters here on this board.
most of you are very critic about the jw and special about doctrines.

Mr or mrs B,
(i read that your post was tounge in cheek, but i wrote all of this crap.....SO YOU"RE GONNA READ IT :)
We are here feeling anger, love, suspicion, contempt, compassion, and peace. You see some of the posters saying things that you think are subversive and sublte. This is not so. We're very open about everything. If you don't like it, that's fine. Unless you're in the chair specially made for A Clockwork Orange, then I think you can click to another website. It's your opinion that we are hurting, or being hurt. If we are posting true things, then what does anyone have to fear from it? If they are lies, then they will be proven lies. People should know what goes on in their church.....remember in the old days when people couldn't even read a bible because they were outlawed.....well witnesses have outlawed one of the most valued parts of humanity.....an inquisitive mind, and the ability to question the things he sees around them. How else can we learn if we don't question?
