I was just reading an article on the Watching the Watchtower site, and it said that basically the way you did it is the best way. It said that bringing up lots of doctrinal arguments and/or dirt about the org will just arouse their defenses. The best way is just to be exactly like you were, basically, kind and good, so they can see that people outside the org aren't evil demons. So maybe it was just a good intuition that kept you silent, and not old bad programming.

i can take one exampel.. we all now about the polyci to convickt sexabuser ot pedofiles,you must have two wittneses to what happend if not we must putt it i n jehovas hand,.
but if you sleep over together before you are married, you dont need any wittneses att al to be dfd or reeprofed, even if it is a third person ther it is an dfd thing says the elder book.enen if it is an third person ther.. why it is so important widh two wittneses to judge sexabuser, but when it comes to peopel as doing nothing only sleep over in the same department it need no wittneses att al to bad things happend to dfd them.. so you can be harder judged if you only sleep in a bed than if you rape chilrden, or sex abuse them in any way,this is not so unusal, i have among my family peopel as have been judged fore this minor thing, sleeping over widhuot doing anything, the punishment was totaly reeprof.. i have also exampel from elder as have use girls under 15 fore porniea, and the punishment was only steep down as an elder.. some very hard things to deal widh fore mee and some alse as now this.. i can also ask one more qestion, wt have told us to tell evrythnig bad we do at once, but if we hide it fore a long time, how will it effeckt the puishment?.

But when it comes to yung peopel as sleeping over toghter, and do nothing it is a very heavy crime, pleas tell mee the place in the bibel as say this is a sinn, isn´t arule as the elders must follow , besides what , has happend.
I thought JWs had that covered with the injunction against stumbling others. Just like every other fun innocent thing a young person might want to do.

I like good manners too, that is, what I THINK of as good manners. But manners are very cultural and subjective, that's all I mean. If I travel to a country where people get too close, or make a lot more eye contact or less or whatever than I'm accustomed to, or all crowd around instead of getting properly in line, then I experience them as having lousy manners and I get very uncomfortable and irritated. But I know that for them, that's not bad manners. That's why even though manners are really important to me, and I might not even like people who don't have MY manners, I wouldn't use them as a criterion of maturity.

Well, I agree with Panshin. I think even good manners can be immature if you're just doing what you were raised to do, without questioning whether it makes sense.

one of the questions in the uk at the moment is whether we shoudl have identity cards or not.. the government, who wants them, claims they will "help to prevent terrorism".
spain and the usa both have identity cards and they have had big terrorist attacks.
it's never been explained exactly how they will stop terrorists.. my personal opinion is that they are just another government play to control people, another form of tax (you can bet it will cost us to get them) and i have my doubts as to whether the government could run a large scale it project of that magnitude (given it's track record) and whether the estimated 3bn won't end up many years late and at least 10bn over-budget.

But I do have to add, just speaking for myself, cuz I don't know if all exJWs are like this, that I do think being brought up in the truth made me paranoid about governments, and I think that does linger.

I think you bring up an interesting point, but I know loads of people who have never been JWs who who range from highly uncomfortable to outraged about the idea. And they aren't all just old hippie-wish-I'd-beens like me.

it sure sounds like it to me; jw doctrine more or less scared me into thinking that god is going to kill all persons whom he/she thinks is not doing his will.
my question is, how can god kill someone for not being "christian", or following the bible out of sheer ignorance?

Reincarnation seems to be likely, and that this is what he taught, but was edited out of the bible and omitted from his teachings.
Why do you think he might have taught reincarnation? I tend towards believing in reincarnation myself, so I'm curious.
