If one of your witiness relatives was incapacitated and the decision to give this relative blood or another lfe saving treatment, that is condemned by the society was thrust solely in your hands, would you give your consent although you know that this decision would be against their personal and religious beliefs?

Definitely 9/11 for me. I was walking through the concourse of the WTC as the first plane hit the Tower. I remember seeing the bodies and debris falling from the sky just barely missing me. I immediately went into shock and stood still for about 10 mins, afraid to move. Finally I made it to what appeared to be a safe distance and watched as the second plane hit the other tower.
As the building fell to the ground I ran as fast as I could, and as I was running I thought, when was the last time I told the people in my life I loved them? Would they realize how important they have been in my life?
I made a decison after that to tell all of my loved ones how much the mean to me, and I try not to hold grudges or sweat the small stuff( almost everything is small stuff).
I also made out a will.

Jehovah's Witnesses Are The Best Liars
by minimus ini say that because we have been trained to lie and not even give it a second thought!
we might intially call it "theocratic strategy" and we may utilize this "provision" so that the "good news" might be spread.
but more often than not, we bend the rules as we see fit, reasoning that it's not really lying, afterall!

I forgot to mention that in both instances both elders and ms's are involved.

I know first hand, several Dubs who live in the New York City area that have their cars registered in southern states to keep their insurance premium low. This is illegal and considered fraud.
Also a group of Dubs who all live in he same building have obtained cable illegally by splicing in the wires of the true subscriber, extending cable service to all of the separate apartments.
How easily they are willing to compromise their faith for a few lousy dollars.

Career advancement and the Borg
by pratt1 in.
it occurred to me that there a lot of activities at work that as a dub you would refrain from participating.
not just holiday celebrations, but also chartiy events outings on saturday or even just going out for drinks after work with the boss and your collegues.. because of these things do you think your career was adversely affected and have you began to partake in these activities after you left the borg?

An honest question...
by TallTexan inlet me preface this by saying that what i'm asking is a legitimate question.
i'm not doubting anyone, or accusing anyone of lying, or being an a-hole (well, no more than usual).
if you have a legitimate response to my question, please post or pm me, but please do not throw rocks or otherwise abuse me because this is an honest question regarding molestation w/in the jw community.. i was an active jw for 25 years and have continued to be associated with my still-jw friends for ten years since.

I agree with many points you raised in your post. However, in your last paragraph, you stated that even one molested child is too much - that statement says it all.
When an organization proclaims to be different from the world and places itself above the standards of the world, then they should be held to that higher standard. You can't have it both ways. Either you are God's chosen people and have his approval or you don't, and you are just like every other religion.
I was raised as a Dub and I only know of 2 child molestation incidents, but think about how many other children were probably molested and was afraid to make an accusation against the congregation member because of either not being believed or becoming marked as someone who has had sexual relations before marriage, hence you are no longer a virgin.
I don't know if any one can make the claim that the borg has more molestation incidents than an other religion with true accuracy, how ever you can be sure that there are a lot more victims then we know about.

Jehovahs Witness Double Standards
by truthbeliever inthe society said in past issues of the watchtower that reading "apostate" literature is just as bad as reading pornography, here is where a double standard comes into play.a person can't be disfellowshipped for reading pornography, but can for reading other literature.i don't get that.also they claim that music is a conscience matter, yet how long could a brother or sister listen to a great gospel tape or cd before being disfellowshipped?if a man grew a beard you think that they would be treated well at the kingdom hall?one last thing,if the society wasnt promoting the 1975 date, and never said it,then why were there not loads of disfellowshippings before the failed date for apostasy by promoting a false date?these are just a few of the many double standards that i have observed.god bless you all.

Good Points!
The Borg is full of double standardsand lies.
Think about this, If a person is disfellowshiped for something they did not do, how can that person show a repented addittude if you can not honestly admit that you did something wrong.
As usual the Borg is always right no matter what.

Christendom = Muslum?
by pratt1 inquestion;.
when the borg refers to christendom, does this term include non-christan based religions, such as buddist, hindi, and muslum?.
has anyone actually seen material from the borg that actually address these other religions?
