has anyone here ever appealed their disfellowshipping?
how did it work out?.
also, has anyone ever contested the appeal committee's decision to uphold the disfellowshipping?
I know someone who was DFed twice and appealed to Brooklyn and was unDFed each time.
He had important friends in Bklyn and the local elders we intimidated big time.
One time a sister admitted to having sex with him, he denied it - she was DFed, nothing happened to him. he keep his responsibilies (MS) and when on as if it never happened
you hear of people saying, "i admire jws for their zeal".
i wonder whether the witnesses' zeal is all that admirable.
al-qaida's got a lot of zeal too......
Speaking specifically about a few of my relatives, I do admire the changes they made in their lives because of the association with the dubs eg... gave up excesive use of drugs and alcohol, on uncle actually learned how to read through his bible studies.
I don't know if all of the credit show go to the Borg for these changes, however they do seem to be happier with their lives.
growing up as a witness makes it nearly impossible to deal with the "world", as a child.
constant pressure is put on witness kids to conform.
most lead a "double life" out of necessity.
Not getting to know my "worldly" relatives. I had two Grandmothers and a Grandfather, I berely knew.
I always feel a little sad when I hear other people talk about their relationships with their grandparents.
Unfortunately, I didn't wake up until 2 grandparents were dead and one was very ill near death.
I have cousins that I now asociate with, however we've missed each others childhoods.

but the best is the words they keep making up.. mine is "super-fine apostles" (from an awake a few months ago).
I know these words are not made up, but JW's have given them new meanings.
