just feel ex-jws should no better
Why should ex-jws know better?
just feel ex-jws should no better
Why should ex-jws know better?
Seems from extensive reading on a couple of these forums that many threads descend into personal and bitter attacks on individuals.Just a sad observation.
Does this occur only on ex-witness forums?

What sort of "harm" do you mean?

does any one have any information on him?
someone told me he died?
what of his wife gloria?.
Have you tried actually phoning up WT and asking for information?

i'm new here...this is my first post.
last month i disassociated myself from the wts.
one of the student workers at the community college where i work is a seriously unquestioning jw; a sweet woman but totally brainwashed.. knowing she would find out soon, i took her aside and told her of my decision.
"Good Qualities" are "fruitage of the spirit".
"Fruitage of the spirit" is a "blessing from Jehovah".
"Jehovah has an Organization."
"Jehovah's Witnesses" are a part of "Jehovahs's Organization".
You left "Jehovah's Organization".
Persons who leave "Jehovah's Organization" are "apostate".
"Apostates" are a part of "Satan's Organization".
"Satan's Organization" cannot produce "fruitage of the spirit".
Without "fruitage of the spirit" a person cannot have "Good Qualities".
Lather, rinse, repeat.

i just got back from a 2 hour ride outside.
the temp is around the freezing mark.
and the wind made it feel even colder.
Our hall forbid it. No pants even if you did have a long skirt covering it.
There was a discussion on this point at the KH. The reasoning was that since the Israelite edict against wearing clothing associated with the opposite sex was meant for identification purposes it wouldn't matter if the jeans were hidden by a long skirt.
How would they know anyway? Was someone assigned to check???

New things learned while living (and witnessing) near the Canadian border:
Cut insoles from the styrofoam trays used by the meat department at the grocery store. Insert said trays insoles into your shoes or boots for insulation.
Wrap a plastic bag from the produce department around each foot (after the sock, before the boot) for additional insulation.
Don't knock on the front door of a dwelling since that door usually leads directly into the living area; opening it will let out all the heat. No householder is willing to raise the fuel bill on your behalf.
Do knock on side doors or kitchen doors. When the householder answers, start stomping your feet to get the snow off your boots. Climb porch stairs as you speak. This encourages the householder to open the door wider and let you in since you obviously have plans to stay a while (and they can't keep standing at the door, they're letting out all that heat!).
Wear looooooong skirts. Wear jeans under said skirt. Tuck jeans into boots.
Layer t-shirts, blouses and sweaters. Add coat. Accent with two or three scarves. Wear a hat (doubles as a sign of submission).
Mittens are good, gloves are better because they allow you to keep service records. Mittens over gloves are great and you can put a plastic bag between the glove and the mitten for another bit of warmth. Buy veggies to get plastic bags, use veggies in a good warm soup.
If you must unglove to ring doorbells, turn Bible pages or write on field service slips keep that hand in your coat pocket as much as possible. Buy a good hand creme, preferably one with lanolin.
We thought we were saving people's lives.
