Sure it's a troll.....but how often do I get to post that someone sounds like an ignoramus?

well as you would have guessed from my name, i am a proud witness and i feel obliged to preach to you about the promises that our wonderful creator, jehovah god, has promised each and every one of us, of any race or background.
i know that you already know what he has told us through his word, but i am curious to wonder why you have chosen to jump off the narrow road which leads to everlasting life.
is it because you have had a bad experience in god's organization?

You don't sound like a "Witness" to me. You sound like an ignoramus.
You were warned to stay away from people like "us" but you are here anyway? That's really obedience to God's Faithful and Discreet Slave, isn't it!
Here you go, straight from the NWT: Rev. 3: 15-18.
As regards your "name": Pr. 16:18.

Editetd to add that this little verse was taught to me years ago by a faltering JW. She wasn't respected in her congregation no matter how hard she tried. Finally she just gave up. Karen, if you ever read this, I still remember. I hope you are doing well.
i don?t remember exactly where in jw-land i heard these experiences, but i believe they were passed around through word of mouth rather than through assemblies or publications.
urban legends?
you decide.. experience #1. faithful jw girl is dating a fellow who is studying (or was recently baptized) in order to win her love rather than because he believes jw doctrine.
I heard these in the early '80's while out in field service. They are "car group" experiences, what you talk about while waiting in the car for your turn at a door. I heard that these things happened "right here in our circuit!". It was always the next congregation over, or someone knew someone in the congregation where it happened.
Same with the smurf stories; I was told in good faith by one of my very best JW friends that her JW neighbor's friend's daughter talked with the smufs who jumped down off the wallpaper once the parents left the room. When I asked to have a chat with the parents of this afflicted child it seemed no one knew exactly which family it was.
I have another story to add to the urban collection. There was a pioneer sister in my congregation (yes, my real congregation and yes I knew this sister) who had spent years in the entertainment industry including touring with Bob Hope. As a parting gift he allegedly gave her a ring. I saw the ring, it was a huge thing. Well, one day she was out in service, chatting with some person at a door, and the person said "I'm not interested in what you have to say but I sure would like to know how you afforded that ring!" She supposedly took off the ring right then and threw it away in the nearest dumpster. She didn't want anything to interfere with people responding to the "good news". Did she really do it? I don't know! She was just wacky enough to do something like that! I didn't ask and I didn't watch to see if the ring ever reappeared. So there you have it, the legend of the $10,000 ring!
Now back to your regularly scheduled courting/wedding stories.

i ask a question, the next person answers my question and then asks their own and so on.
so i will start off with....... .
what if animals could talk?
Then I would have an excuse for missing appointments!
What if you could go back to school for whatever degree you wanted?
hi, my first post, although i've been lurking for some time now.
i am an active jw that continues my association with full knowledge of the organisation's tactics.
my main reason for abiding is my family and friends, although there is little i agree with in the way of doctrine.
Try PM'ing Simon and asking him to put them up for you.
I'd like to hear them!

One day, and I know it may be hard to believe now, you may be grateful for the distance between your JW sister and yourself. You will be spared the details of all the degrading, disenchanting experiences that she and her family will go through as they try to bring up that child "in the discipline and mental regulating of Jehovah".
Sometimes it's better not to know.
Sometimes it's the only way to survive.

god says: ?blessed is the able-bodied man who puts his trust in jehovah, and whose confidence jehovah has become.?
a governing body that made decisions based on the scriptures and blessed by jehovah!
now, he is once again serving as a christian elder.
Theo,
If the point you are trying to make is that people don't have the capacity to govern their own lives, just say it. Just that.
When you start spouting scriptures and/or examples you lose ground; there will be an exception to every statement that you make.
Just state your thesis and let the discussion begin. Post your scriptures and examples as appropriate to the developing thread.
...unless you just want a fight...
Nina
do you have a favorite scripture?
mine is ecc 7:3 "better is vexation than laughter, for by the crossness of the face the heart becomes better.
ever realize you are a certain way and it just makes your face cringe?
Mtth. 6: 33, 34

does anyone know if it's at all possible to see what the wt has on you if you're not longer associated with them?
is it possible to request, maybe legally, that they expunge any information about you?
does it stay there forever?
Does "theocratic warfare strategy" mean anything to you? Even if you get them to officially destroy your records you can bet your last Watchtower that there is a backup copy somewhere. WT does not take orders from Satan's System.
I don't know what, precisely, is bothering you about that particular organization having information about you. Maybe it's just the idea that they have it at all and you are not even a member? If that's the case, really, why worry about it? Have you any idea how much information (and I mean very personal information) has been collected about you by other organizations during your lifetime? And how that collected information is bought and sold, even by entities that say they will never do such things?
The only thing that matters is how you live your life today. Let them have their "records". It's all dryness and dust. You are the real living person. Nothing they can collect and store has any power or influence over the life you lead...unless you let it. You will not lose any real love or respect nor can you gain any real "standing" based on such stored information. It's dead. It's over, whether the information collected is true or false. Let it go.
"Let the dead bury their dead." Soon all WT will have left is memories.
