I cooked lunch for a GB member one time. He seemed to enjoy it.
Any time I asked him a question, he would never answer it directly. I never really got the answers to my questions. After that I realized that they are extremely oridinary people. I lost a lot of respect for JWs after that.

Where do you think evil (or bad behavior) comes from?
by wordlywife inbeing worldly i try to get my head around this sometimes, and wondered what others opinions are.
being that my husband is a long time witness i know what the witness view is, it is all satan's doing.
since most of you are "out", has your view on the source of evil/unacceptable behavior, (whatever you personally find just out-right wrong, for me it is child sexual abuse), changed?

Evil comes from the voices in my head that tell me stuff...
Sometimes a little devils appears on my shoulder and tells me to do stuff. Then a little angel appears and tells me to do good. I listen to one or the other at random. -

We had to study that book at the Theocratic Ministry school for a while. It was the you don't have to look at JW history becuase we compilied it and its all true book. I even remember the assembly when it was released. My dad released the book.
By the way, I would want my 2 days back. Maybe you should write the Society and ask for them back. -

Pakistani Elders Order Rape of Woman In "Honor Attack"
by eljefe infrom the article: .
the decision by the federal shariat court was welcomed by the lawyer of mukhtar mai, a 33-year-old woman who said she was raped in 2002 after elders in her village ordered the attack as punishment for her brother?s alleged illicit affair with a woman from another family.. .
violence against women is common in deeply conservative pakistan, particularly in rural areas where the government has little control.

From the article:
The decision by the Federal Shariat Court was welcomed by the lawyer of Mukhtar Mai, a 33-year-old woman who said she was raped in 2002 after elders in her village ordered the attack as punishment for her brother?s alleged illicit affair with a woman from another family.
Violence against women is common in deeply conservative Pakistan, particularly in rural areas where the government has little control. Hundreds of women are killed or brutally disfigured ? often at the hands of their fathers, brothers or husbands ? in so-called ?honor? attacks.

The Literature Counter
by the_classicist inat your congregation did it ever seem that the literature counter had nothing in stock except for a lot of the basics (armageddon revelation book, evolution book, brochures, cheap nwts, and what's being studied).
what made me think of this was someone saying posting about how the elders wait until the last minute to hand out the kms.
do you think they do the same kind of thing with the literature?.

Euripides is correct. I was Literature Servant for a number of years. There was never any instructions that said only order this or that. The CO's really don't like a huge amount of a piece of literture that doesn't place well (i.e. 100 Revelation books).

I think that flight 93 being taken down by a military aircraft is very plausible. It just underscores that the whole attack was not a fabrication of the US. That specific plane heading for Washignton, DC, was a great threat to whatever was their target in the nation's capital, and a decision could very well have been made to take it down.
A few points:
A Sidewinder (Air to Air missile) or AtA missile makes a loud noise and explosion. Someone would have heard.
A Sidewinder would have left a distinctive resin.
The images of the plane were too intact to have an explosion bring it.
IIRC, the 911 commision played their black-box tape and there was the sound of an explosion. -

Out of curiosity, why would America attack its own high-ranking officers with a missile? It doesn't make sense to me.
