As JWs, ever met any annointed ?
by greendawn inin your time as jws did you ever meet any of the annointed?
did they have good christian personalities and what did they think of the wts and its governing body ?
i met one and he was very unhappy with the way the gb treated him and generally the way they run this society, he told me he wrote them two letters containing a long list of complaints with full scriptural support but he was ignored, first letter got a reply amounting to "no need to write to us" the second one no reply at all.

I knew some middle aged "Annointed". I found that they were crazier and much more judgemental than other JW's.

Sin City was great. It is already #96 on IMDB's Top 250.
My two favorite parts where the 1911 slide to the head and the prostitutes with lots of guns. -

The NWT. It has the most accredited and scholarly translators. Absolutely no scripture was changed.

The Watchtower, Scholar and Misrepresentation of Source References
by AlanF inour resident pretend-jw-scholar who calls himself "scholar" enjoys justifying lying and misrepresentation by the watchtower society and himself.
the society, out of one side of its collective mouth, recommends not misrepresenting source references, yet out of the other side, goes ahead and does so without hesitation whenever it is convenient.
the society understands that unfair quoting is dishonest.

Typing How to Quote A Book Source returns these hits. It returns a link to The ABC's of Referencing.
I remember when we learned how to reference a book in school. I had never seen this due to the fact that I had spent my youth only reading WT publications. With the exception of the Creator book, I have seen only a handful of times where the WT references a book properly (as mentioned in the above link). The thread has already given plenty of evidence showing how the Watchtower doesn't properly quote. How about some direct and unedited quotes that show how the WT quotes properly (Creator book excluded). -

right now, he is back on.
it's hard for me to cope with his switching back and forth.

When someone is in a high control group like JW's, the previous relationships go out the window, this includes any friendship or even blood relations. JW's stress not having a personal relationship with "worldly" people or anyone who is not a JW.

Daniel's Prophecy, 605 BCE or 624 BCE?
by Little Bo Peep inhello all, i've been reading your site for a couple of years now, and have found, for the most part, it to be very helpful.
i must say, at first i was very "scared" at what i might find, but contrary to what i grew up learning, there is a "wealth" of information outside of the watchtower organization.
i haven't attended meetings for about two years now, and like many i've read about, have spent many hours researching, telling myself "i'm not wrong for searching", and doing more research.

I for one would like a very, very detailed post/thread from Scholar where he consolodates the Babylonian and Israelite kings reignal years and gives an expanation of the Watchtower's dates. Each one these would be supported by a direct quote from the Watchtower or the Bible. No more vague I'm right because I say I'm right and the Watchtower is right because it says its right.
