I like the fact the this board is growing by leaps & bounds. I just hope Simon has enough room to support all the growth here. Pretty soon this board will be adding "6 to 8 congregations a day" too!

to mark this weekend's district convention in sydney, australia, we are asked to cast our minds back in time and remember those district convention days with a certain nostalgia.
so, are you ready to begin that walk down memory lane?
settle back with a cuppa with me and reflect awhile.

okay, guys, this is my first time starting a forum, so be kind.
how many of you have watched the movie "joe vs. the volcano" (1990 - tom hanks, meg ryan) and what did you think of it?
i would've posted this in the tv/movies section but i found a lot of parallels to our situations and feelings about the witnesses as joe moved through his life.
All I remember about the movie is one of my favorite oldies song: Come Go With Me by the Del Vikings.

i generally enjoy most people.
i try to give people the benefit of the doubt.
i am not a hateful person.
I had anathemas (not to be confused with enemas) for a handful WTB law enforcers a.k.a "elders"
One in in particular whos nick-name now stands as Fhart Bhastard!

i've been thinking about changes in my world view lately and wonder if others have had a similarly subtle, yet profound, outlook on life.
not being a jw nor even a believer anymore has made a subtle change that ive observed.
to begin with, i read somewhere that people tend to bring their own standards to their religion.
I don't wear a tie as much anymore.

my jw niece called me last night on the phone.
she is having a pampered chef party (for those of you who don't know what these are, it's like a tupperware party except they cook a meal and sell the cooking stuff).
it is going to be at my jw sister's house and all the dubs will be there....including my "best" friend who ratted me out to my sister regarding us celebrating christmas last year.. i am not invited....but my niece would like me to buy some stuff and to make up for shunning me she is offering to give me her hostess discount....woohoo huh?.
dear wt.. "we will, we will, rock you".
off your self made pedestal.. .
privileged to be used in breaking down the frontiers of ignorance of the jehovah's witnesses
Celia
He went to Califorina in good standing. But he taking the olde dirt nap now.
there is no doubt in my mind that the glory days of jehovah's witnesses are over.
from my knowledge and experience with wt history, i would define the glory days as the decades of the 1950's, 1960's and early 1970's.
with knorr's great expansionary vision and discipline, dubs in the 1950's became a "somebody" in the 1950's.
Good points made waiting. Thank you too!

sister got married back in the summer.
she had a small wedding and they only invited their families.
this is what i don't understand.
TB said : I'm the type, when somethings in the past, then it's in the past and thats it.
That is a virtue. I wish I could.
