i'm wondering just how many "active" elders are lurking on this board.
do any of you know if any are here?
Hi SillyPutty
There are many. They just would never admit to it.

i know of a congregation on the east coast that is having all bookstudies meet at the kingdom hall!
that's right--no bookstudies in private homes, at least for now.... has anyone else heard of this?
and what could be the reason?
Perhaps all the elders and ministerial servants got tired of having the great flock over once a week! *LOL*Sincerely,

You may be right. It gets sickening after a while. Same ones always having to "set the example". Year after year. We had the Divine providential privilege here for 4 years. Having to set up the folding chairs, etc. They (the little sheepies) wreck the carpet, clog the toilet, knock stuff over, won't take their damn shoes off, won't leave after the boring study is over..the list goes on & on. It's no wonder people tire of such a 'privilege'.

we were helped to appreciate the wonderful blessings from auxiliary pioneering.we may not be able to get to visit the householders, especially when it's pouring rain or snowing, but at least we can warm up in the car and enjoy upbuilding association in the car with the heater on.........that's it in a nutshell.
what do you think??

Now PurpleV,

if not checked, this causes dissension among spiritual brothers and hinders their efforts to serve jehovah shoulder to shoulder.this is so because murmurers invariably voice their complaints, doubtless hoping that others will sympathize with them.

I was hoping someone here could tell me if I am. I mean, I used to go to all the meetings. Does that count?

to be able to properly "encourage one another, more so as you behold the end drawing near", we as jw's were instructed to do the following: .
(1) stay after the meeting for "upbuilding association", and .
(2) rather than talk about mundane things of life, discuss the finer points of the meeting just held.
Gopher
How many of you really talked about the ideas presented at the meeting, when lingering after the meeting?
Never, everything else but that.

in another thread, i wrote the following: .
as a jw i always thought we'd be preaching while all the other false religions were being destroyed by government, giving anyone who would listen a last chance.
in the past, i even thought about how foolish a worldly person would have to be not to listen - after all, we had predicted this very turn of events in our publications for decades.
In retrospect, it seems ridiculous to me.
