  there are too many reasons to cite.

  suffice to say, we all know annoying people.. we don't become a hermit because of a few annoying people.

  Terry, nice post! I am a 'vile'inist but mostly a fiddler that has been called upon from time to time to play some jazz. I can usually pull off the melodic parts in a jazzy sort of way but am still a bit lost on the improv part. Jazz takes off and follows it's own rules (or maybe no rules) as far as I can tell. I tend to 'think too much' and totally lose it on the improv. I know that you need to be totally comfortable and into the music and feeling it. It's that 2 / 5 thing! It's something I still hope to be able to achieve before my life is over! I love Bach and I've been told by other musician friends that Bach knew Jazz a few hundred years ahead of it's time! Just listen to Stephan Grappeli and Django Reinhart play Concerto on D minor by Bach duet!

  I had breakfast with 50+ JWs on Sunday

  we pulled into a hotel parking lot saturday around 6pm on the return leg of a wonderful family vacation to new england - an then fate stepped in---a man in a suit got out of a car with the rest of a picture perfect family.

  i immediately noticed all the name tags--- and my blood pressure spiked 50pts- damn!!

  i was booked in a 4 story hotel full of jws-- the only time they took off the name tags was in the swimming pool- they were so proud of themselves.. at 6:30 am the hot water went cold in the wife's shower- what do you expect on the 4th floor when a herd of jws is trying to get ready at the same time?

  What's the Watchtower's latest view on "The End" or "The Second Coming of Jesus Christ"? Most act like its not coming!

  i posted that article from the miami newspaper, others posted the united kingdom's articles on jws and isis.

  what's the official position of the watchtower about the last days, are we in them or are we going to wait another 2,000 years like the jews believe?.

  i remember arguing at work with friends that nostradamus end date of 3000 was wrong, are there other past prophets you know of who predicted the world's end past our time?.

  Fisherman, the 'end' that my grandmother anticipated during the WW II days came and went. She died in 1980. The end that my father anticipated at least by 1980 came and went. He died in 2012. If JWs are still around for a bicentennial all past expectations will be long forgotten....just as you have forgotten past expectations.

  i am writing this letter to request that you have an immediate meeting with jehovah regarding the tight pants, spanx (i think you mean spandex) issues.

  it it clear from your pants rant that jehovah has focused his attention away from the billions of people currently suffering on the planet to address this specific issue.. today i observed a group of witnesses in my neighborhood.

  Bible Chronology, Egyptology and the Great Flood

  fact: bible chronology says the flood occurred between 2348 and 2370 bce, depending on which scholar you listen to.

  fact: the great pyramid of giza was constructed 200 years before, in c. 2560 bce..

  so, if you believe in a literal interpretation of noah's flood, you believe that the egyptians built a great civilization, were destroyed by the flood in 2370 bce, and then somehow, they reappeared immediately after the flood, picked right back up where they left off without skipping a cultural beat.. oh, and isn't it ironic that legitimately studying the great pyramid of giza debunks jw mythology now?

  can these untrained, unloving, pharisees possibly be fit to represent a god of love?

  I wonder how many times this kind of call goes out to the elders? I'm going to guess that her situation is not unique. What the recording shows is that these men are not loving shepherds but corporate men through and through and their job is the cold following of bureaucratic rules.

  Oubliette always says "let's review, it's a cult".

  I would add: let's review, it's a business. That was an example of how a distressed employee would be handled in a corporate board room.

  I don't regret leaving the religion. It was the single most important choice I ever made in my life. If there was ever anything I was supposed to do in this life, that was it. The things that happened in the aftermath; the loss of all my friends and especially family was and is still hard but I don't regret the choice. I have 3 out of 4 of my kids out with me and some cousins. I have many new friends who accept me as I am. Each day I wake up is a gift and I Can alter and refine my beliefs with each day of added information...today's 'truth' may not stand the test of tomorrow's facts. I'm good with that!

  Pretend you were still a JW, would you have secretly wanted hospitals to force a loved on to have a blood transfusion?

  i'm curious, even though jws must fight and resist, how many secretly hope that their loved one is forced a blood transfusion so they can live and their conscious is cleared of having done everything possible to not have one?

  or you have felt guilty and upset about it no matter what?

  During my pregnancies I always took comfort in the fact that the state would intervene in behalf of my child over the blood issue if necessary. But, I mostly didn't like to think about it.
