Yes, an occasional fish and chips will do the trick nicely too.
For the vegetarians I recommend just the "and chips." Of course there's fennel seed. My god! Other people are reading this!

no mistake here.. funkyderek wrote on another thread: for the genesis account to be literally true would require a mutation rate 25 - 40 times that which is observed.
ironically, to be a creationist, one would have to believe in a much faster rate of evolution than any biologist would believe.
that reminds me of a thread from a few months ago where the issue of flood was brought up.. i remember i was really surprised to read that the wts suggests such a hypothesis of post-flood speedy evolution, whose rate far exceeded that of any evolution theory suggested so far.
That the great variety of animal life known today could have come from inbreeding within so few ?kinds? following the Flood is proved by the endless variety of humankind?short, tall, fat, thin, with countless variations in the color of hair, eyes, and skin?all of whom sprang from the one family of Noah.
Two false statements do not "prove" each other. All in less than 4,400 years (WTS states flood occured 2370 BC). Unbelievable.
The deep South has been inbreeding for 400 years, I don't see any new human "kinds" down there.

Some metabolisms are built for a meat diet. The problem with obesity (esp. in US) is the impossible amount of processed food Americans eat.
Simplify your life and save money. Learn to cook with whole foods, meat included if you like. Stay the hell away from fast food and the pre-fab microwave meals. By all means don't punish yourself, explore recipies that look interesting.
We will look back on this time and realize that cheap/quick meat, sugary soda, preservative-ridden processed food was addictive and poison. Note I said addictive.
Many nutritional meals can be made in 20 minutes or less. I also found that cooking vegetarian was easier and cheaper than cooking with meat. Take the time and effort to improve your life, its worth it.
i hope i haven't jumped the gun on this one, but it was too exciting to keep a secret.
for all of you who followed my trial, and the diappointing results, will find this interesting.
i have always felt that this story, the whole story, needed to be told.
It's so nice to hear from you. Good luck!!

does anyone remember any stories related to hotels not wanting to do business with the witnesses anymore because the witnesses were leaving literature in their rooms rather than tipping maid service?.
j
GXJW: Yes, I should say tipping in restaurants. I remember my first travels and the social panic not knowing whether/how much to tip in pubs/restuarants/hotels etc.
Here's an informal guide for Europe: http://www.ricksteves.com/plan/tips/eurotips.htm
are you able to tell if someone is a jw just by looking or listening to a person?
what are the give away signs that make you just know that they're a witness?
Hum a "kingdom song" if you are wondering. Their ears will twitch.

U/D, thanks for your comments. I hoped that someone from the industry would speak up. I don't put moral judgements on anyone who eats meat. And like I said, "hat's off to you." You understand the process.
While there are "humane" facilities/ranches out there, there is a much larger factory slaughterhouse industry that is absolutely dispicable. But is the industry so bad or is it the careless public who's first concern is cheap hamburger?
That careless public is you (not U/D) I mean you, the person reading this post. When was the last time you thought about the animal you were eating at the time? Did you stop to care if that Chicken McNugget had a life once? Have you watched an animal be lead to slaughter and killed?
Say yes to those questions, and then throw it on the grill in good conscience.

Jankyn: Particularly minorities and people who are often overlooked--if you give them excellent, respectful service, they tend to tip very well because it's such a change from how they are usually treated.
Good point.

do you feel the gb is morally bankrupt?
to lie to those that put great trust in them is a sign of moral bankruptcy.
The talking points from the WTS discussing the validity of the Org:
1) God always uses an organization (begin with a false premise to start internal logic)
2) God uses imperfect men (proved by rediculous accounts of Moses, Aaron, David, etc, etc etc)
3) The Governing Body is not "inspired" (but they are "spirit directed" and "God's Channel"??)
4) This has caused the GB to make adjustments (in every sense of understatement)
5) But if we do not follow the "slave" (and here's the mantra...) where else would we go?
6) Other organizations obviously do not have God's blessing (Note we need an org, see point #1)
I don't know maybe we then should start our own religion then, like Charles Russel did!?
Methinks the WTS is on a COD basis with the fella upstairs and it's been awhile since the last order.

I consider a veggie diet far superior. For those of you who love flesh, do yourself a favor and back off the red stuff for a while. Your heart will thank you.
Another issue that bugs me is the emotional detachment that most people have about the meat on their plates. They have no idea of the violence and mass-process required to provide this. A caveat is those who hunt. Listen, if you can kill an animal and gut it, my hat's off to you. Otherwise, stop the emotional disconnect.
It comes down to the fact of conditioning. A rancher will love his horse and dog, recognize thier intelligence and personality, and then methodically ship a few-hundred head to the butcher. Meanwhile in France, horse is served with garnish. Meanwhile in Korea, they consider whether to classify dogs as "livestock" (no joke). Any med student will tell you a human thigh muscle "looks like meat."

Look at these photos the next time you order that bloody steak, I dare you.
