Anyone else like comedian Stephen Wright?
by Makena1 insteven wright, very low key, monotone delivery, but one of my favs.
his mind sees things differently than we do - for example:.
i woke up one morning and all of my stuff had been stolen...and replaced by exact duplicates.

i was involved in, i think, about 5 during a month period....i don't remember a lot of it (i think i blocked a lot of it)...but it was in front of 3 elders of my cong...one 'good cop', one 'bad cop', and one indifferent one...i mostly remember that they asked the same questions over and over again at each meeting, whether i had answered them before or not...like checking my story...i tried, lamely, to kill myself before my second-to-last meeting by slashing up my wrists and arms pretty good...that meeting, which was at my home, i remember as a disembodied experience, because i was just sitting there, blood running down my arms and on my jeans...not one of the elders said anything about it, they just stared and asked their questions...then, when i paused too long for one of the questions (i think it was 'have you ever had sex') the 'bad cop' elder stood up, walked over to me and stood within a couple of inches of my face and screamed that jehovah knew if i was telling the truth or not and that i should tell them what they wanted to know...i think he also called me a name, but i don't remember totally...at that point i kind of woke up from my stupor and told them all to leave...i don't think he fully realized what he had done, as he freaked out a little...the other elders just looked at each other and then started fumbling for words, and i just sat there and kept repeating that they needed to leave....after they left the 'good cop' elder (who was actually friendly with me) called me and apologized for the behaviour of the other elder...i just told him that jehovah would take care of him like jehovah was going to take care of me....a couple of days later, they asked me to meet them at the kh and told me that i was being df'd...
it was an awful experience and every non-jw person that i've shared it with now despises the religion and a couple of them have even mentioned the treatment of 'bad jws' to jw's that have come to their doors...

Were you illegally disfellowshipped?
by hubert inbased on "official" bible based doctrine, were you "illegally disfellowshipped?
i have been reading many threads on disfellowsipping, and it makes me wonder if there were many who were disassociated, or thrown out of the org.
for reasons other than what the watchtower officially teaches?

do you know if they keep records of all the df's that they do? just curious....not that i want to go back, but it would be interesting if there was a way to get an official copy of something saying why...

i hear ya, sistah! *high five*
my younger sister lives with my hardcore jw mom, is baptized and (a) dating a man in jail for his 3rd strike for murder, (b) smokes pot and has been drinking since 14, (c) been on reproof at least 5 times, and (d) has several tattoos.....is she getting df'd? nooooo...she gets 'shepherding calls'....and my mother just tells me that the the society (and it's rules)haven't changed and the elders are 'on it'....whaaaa???

i was df'd for 'bad association' and drinking....and i'm sure my suicide attempt right before my last judicial meeting was included in that somewhere (even though it was never mentioned)...i'm not sure that those were "disfellowship-able" charges, especially since i was (in their eyes) a good jw until then and had never been on reproof of any kind....however, at the meeting the week after i was df'd the 'special talk' was about drinking and sex, and (like you, sp) i never admitted to any sexual indiscretions and none were ever proven....

woo hoo....JW Mom is coming to my wedding!
by AuSet in....my whacked out jw hardliner mom just informed me this morning that she and my entire jw family will be coming to my wedding on oct. 1st.
this has come totally out of the blue as previous to today she did not give any indication of caring one way or the other whether i got married or not, and had said to me a couple of times "oh, i'll just stay and watch over the food.
i think my more liberal jw sister has managed to talk some sense into her at last.

that is awesome!! my hardcore jw mom decided to come to my 'worldly' wedding as well...even with the threat of my hubby's lesbian humanistic jew rabbi aunt performing the ceremony....which, unfortunately, didn't happen...but we did have a female jewish cantor perform our non-denominational ceremony...which included a lot of american indian elements, (not to mention my vows which included bruce lee & missy elliott quotes) and was out in 'the showiness of nature'..haha she actually commented that it was a nice ceremony, "considering"...
