It has all the American values. Premarital sex, getting married, hetero, going to church every year, clothing, aso. I mean I´ve never used a suit exept JW stuff. Not even in weddings or funerals, jeans will do fine. Thinking my friends less than 10% are married. Going to church? come on nobody is doin´g that, it´s not 1725 it´s 2004. aso.

Is The Watchtower Organization Thought Of As An American Religion?
by Outaservice inwhile we all know that the jehovah's witnesses are found throughout the world, someone once told me that in other countries the governing body does not carry the weight that they do in the united states.. do you living in germany, france, uk, australia, etc.
feel that was the case?
to me, it seemed that such persons as the australians were such a 'gutsy' independent, wild west sort of culture that would question authority more so than say a u.s. witness.. is this primarily thought of as an american religion by others?.

Bachlor Recipes?
by Lostreality inim looking for any cheap, easy to make, good food ideas and recipes out there.. my current meal most of the time is either.
cheese casadia: shred some cheese on a tortilla, add some cut up lunch meat (chicken is best) sprinkle hot sauce and microwave for 45 seconds.
sprinkle more hotsauce (if you like, i love it) and place another tortilla on top of the cheese, meat, and hot sauce.

Did Being a JW Make You a Bully VICTIM in SCHOOL?
by Smoldering Wick ini read this article in the montreal gazette that talked about a young witness kid being bullied in school.
it made me think back to all the times i was treated differently in school for being a jehovah's witness.
i grew up in a predominately mexican community and went to public school there from 1st-12th grade as a jw.

Violence was the right answer. Beating up the biggest bully made it stop.

Would you marry not for love but for a visa?
by Atilla ina friend of mine was approached by a asian family living here in the u.s. that wants to get a family member, a 18 year girl living in the south east asia region here to america.
they want my friend to get married to this girl for a year or two so she can eventually become an american citizen.
the family living here has offered to pay for all expenses; my friends air ticket over there and back along with any other expenses incurred plus a lump sum payment upon her successful immigration here to the u.s. my friend is maybe considering it but he hasn't even seen a picture of the girl yet and he is somewhat older(about 9 year difference) than the girl.. now if they fall in love or consemate the relationship, that's totally up in the air and i guess open to bargaining and my friend would totally be free to get a divorce once the girl gets to the u.s. i did ask some of my friends what they thought, and everyone pretty much said no.
