Do any of you know about the iphone?
by misanthropic ini'm planning on getting one today, they have some in stock at the at&t store near here.
but i wanted to know if anyone has one already and if you can tell me what your experience has been so far- short as it may be.. are there any major cons that outweigh the pro's of getting one?.
i tried to check online if there was any information on any negatives of the iphone but i couldn't find anything.. any input anyone might have would be appreciated.

i couldn't afford one if i wanted one BUT, as with all new technology i'd wait awhile before getting one so that all the bugs can be worked out and the price goes down. i foresee a xmas special on those new iphones that will probably save people 200 bux or more. another year and they'll probably be free with the cell phone service contract.

What the hell is WRONG with me?
by RollerDave inin my younger days, i wasn't the guy i am now.. destroyed as a person before i was five, childhood of brutality, teens of violence, settled down some in my twenties and tried to walk in the so-called 'truth' but they would not have it, it is safe to say i was never known as a hard worker or a go-to guy for anything but heavy-hitting or knee breaking.. reading what i've spilled into this forum, you will no doubt know i undertook a reformation of sorts when i finally hit bottom in my thirties, rebuilt from the ground up.
decided what was worth standing for, what was worth attaining to.. so, fast-forward, here we are preparing for a big 4th of july blowout, it's a holiday we do, so we go overboard.
we have an acre on the side of a bluff along the mississippi river, a screen porch looking up the hill at the deer and other wildpests.. we turn the garage into a banquet hall, and the screen porch is just off the garage, so its pretty nice.

i had to go to the grocery store, as i was walking in i noticed a man and a woman behind me and both were looking at my butt.. it's a nice butt but usually doesnt get much attention.
i resisted the urge to brush the back of my pants off till they were inside and out of sight... i did and didnt feel anything... later on in the store i got that " feeling" that somene was behind me.. turned around and a woman was looking at my butt.

Update - advice please?
by sweet pea inso, it has come to my attention that my jw girlfriends have been gossiping in that great inimitable jw way - they seem to believe that i am attending an alpha course and going to a new church (as if?).
obviously one of my parents has spilled some baked beans and been indiscreet (just like that old faithful and not so discreet, slave....).
not sure what will happen next but wondering where i stand with regards to any elders that were to get wind of this?

you can't really fight rumors.
if the elders want to meet with you about the rumors you decide if you want to defend yourself or not.
they only have as much power over you as you let them have.

i live in the city, we have a bunch of nice lesbians around..i couldnt figure out why they were all shopping this morning and why my butt was suddenly inspiring scrutiny but oh well, the attention was nice while it lasted LOL

by MUNKAFATS inas im a non witness a married couple call on me every couple of weeks , the last time they called i asked them about this supposed cover up , the husband told me that hes been an elder for 17 years and in that time they have only had one episode of abuse and that frist it was handled by the org and then was sent to the proper authorities

just remember too, the changes that have happened, didnt come from the watchtowers concern over children, they only changed when laws were put in place that would hold them financially liable if children were molested and the "clergy" didn't report it to the authorities.
again, that isn't even the law in every state last time i checked.
there are threads here with letters to elders or letters that were read to elders stating the procedure is to call brooklyn FIRST, talk to the legal department and the legal department will tell them if the laws in their state requires they notify the authorities.
