Retirement

the difference is now blatantly obvious, older ones who went against direction of the gb and planned for retirement have relatively more comfortable lives.. those who trusted and followed gb direction never got further education or training, pioneered or spent most of their lives knocking on doors for free, making just enough to get by in a part time job.. if you followed direction from the gb then you thought the end was just around the corner so no need to plan for retirement.. now these ones have indeed got old which they were given the impression they never would.

they are a burden on others.

the state has to pay for them in their old age.

It really helps to inherit money from a non witness father like my cousin did. He's quite the snob about it. And his wife who definitely married "up" is very much enjoying the money. It's so much easier to be a rich witness than a poor one. Seattle has lots of rich jws.

New rules for inactive ones?

have the rules changed as far as disfellowshipping inactive ones when it's clear they are engaged in "wrongdoing?".

i have a cousin in seattle who was disfellowshipped about 3 years ago or so and then went through the process of being reinstated (took only 6 months) and then proceeded to fade and do nothing regarding the jw's .

fast forward to today and now she's had a baby out of wedlock and the uber jw elder father and mother are all on board somehow.

My cousin's sister and BIL have been Bethelites for at least 10 years and are very much in the fold. The elder father and mother are very much in however the father is in his mid seventies and starting to have some dementia issues but not too bad. And the elderette mother is very much a control freak etc. So yes there's a baby involved but I know other JW"s that would shun her even though she's not DF'd for getting pregnant outside of marriage. It makes NO SENSE to me at all!! I'm ready to say something but hesitate because it will probably backfire on me as usual,

I have a cousin in Seattle who was disfellowshipped about 3 years ago or so and then went through the process of being reinstated (took only 6 months) and then proceeded to fade and do nothing regarding the JW's . Fast forward to today and now she's had a baby out of wedlock and the uber JW elder father and mother are all on board somehow. AND her older sister and brother in law who live in the compound in Warwick are here for two weeks helping her!!! So I guess if you have an elder dad and Bethelite siblings you get a free pass? This cousin is 41 years old BTW not a teenager or anything like that. I've been DF'd for 45 years and no one will ever forget in my family. But I guess if you have JW royality in your family it's a different story. I hate these people.

JW's in Spain?

i have a cousin in law that is in the inner sanctum of the jw's at warwick.

he and his wife were always traveling on the wtbts's dime all over the world to visit bethels and report back etc.

they have been in lockdown for over 2 years and now it looks like the gates have opened for him and wifey to travel all over again.

It's alway been rather vague on what my cousin in law actually does but it's obvious he's in middle upper management because of him flying all over the world checking in on various Bethel locations. At one point several years ago they went to India to look to printing literature since it was supposed to be so cheap there.

But the consolidation of bank accounts sounds just about right for his duties.

He and his wife were always traveling on the WTBTS's dime all over the world to visit Bethels and report back etc. They have been in lockdown for over 2 years and now it looks like the gates have opened for him and wifey to travel all over again. They are meeting her uber elder in Rome to go on a 10 day cruise after "doing some business for the society in Spain."

Anyone know what might be going on there? Like more selling off of Kingdom Halls and the like? I don't think they know that Spain is fighting wild fires either but I guess they don't care. Nevermind that COVID is still going on.

Warwick lockdown or not?

so does anyone have any updates on the opening up of the headquarters in warwick?

my uber cousins seem to be out of lockdown for a bit but it's hard to know for how long.

they are going to hawaii with the rich parents who pay for everything for a week next week.

An old friend was all nice until she found out I was DF'd!!!

well this is almost funny to me at this point.

i've been out since i was 19 and i'm now 65. i have uber jw cousins that of course now shun me big time.

funny how when my uber jw started declining in health all of a sudden they "needed" me and i had to help with her care blah blah after being shunned for years.. my mom passed away a couple of years ago and i sent out the death/memorial announcements to her friends far and near.

They just don't realize how stupid they look when they do this shit. Talk about being stumbled!! And how they can turn it on and off like a light switch too. So very awful behavior.

My mom passed away a couple of years ago and I sent out the death/memorial announcements to her friends far and near. At that point I received a lovely note from "Jill' and she also sent some pictures of all of us and saying what great times we had. I then left the country for awhile and then decided to get back in touch with "Jill" since she was so nice etc and I really don't know how she couldn't have known that I was DF'd. So I got in touch with her via text since she had sent me her phone number in Santa Barbara the first time she reached out to me. Okay so I text and say hi and she's all nice and how are you etc? I responded back and said fine blah blah and the cousins are fine etc. Well I don't know who she talked to but now of course she has said "oh I just found out you 'left Jehovah" (god I hate that expression) and now you need to come back blah blah.

These people are so stupid that they can't figure out why anyone would "come back" after being so phoney to people. She was all wonderful and chatty until she talked to someone (no idea who since she's not in the Seattle area) and then of course she immediately went into cult mode. GAH!

Food donations from the government

so i just saw on fb a letter going out to jw's in southern california to keep quiet if they get any food donations from the elders.

the jw's aren't giving this food out of the kindness of their hearts, they are getting it from the government and pretending they are doing it themselves.

The letter said something about how they don't want attention brought to themselves. Yeah because they are giving food donations under false pretenses.

does someone have a list of the scriptures the jw's use to justify shunning and disfellowshipping?

i know there are only a few..

As I thought there's basically only one that they base their favorite doctrine on. My cousin can't remember the slogan of "stay alive till 75" but will never let me forget that I'm disfellowshipped
