My bad thanks for clarifying Incognito. She later recovered and was interviewed again. The live view of course could not be edited. But the newscast which aired later in the day omitted that scene.

Sorry I evidently missed those glaring inaccuracies about the JW world. What impressed me was how spot on the movie depicted the Jw imposed isolation of the kid from his peers and how he had been denied pretty much everything that makes childhood fun. The movie. Have you seen it? It's not new or anything. Released in 1993. I only recently saw on streaming channel AXIS tv. It stars Kevin Castner (Butch) as an escaped convict who befriends a young Witness boy( Philip) who he has taken hostage. Costar Clint Eastwood (Red) plays a Texas Ranger in hot pursuit. Eastwood also directed the movie.
An interesting thing to me about the movie is how in my opinion it accurately depicts the messed up life of the young witness boy in the1960s without portraying his mom as a religious nut so much.
With the screenwriter's insight into the subject, it causes me to wonder if he has first-hand knowledge of the religion.

Happy Alcoholic Jehovah's Witnesses
by The Bethelite infor many years since the witness organization, after i have told people that i'm no longer a jehovah's witness, people would say "oh the religion were people are not allowed to drink!".
"no they drink alright.....they can't do much of anything else but they do drink!".
in fact the first place i ever got drunk was bethel.

Long ago during my brief stay at Brooklyn Bethel I never really had much money for booze but I will say that two California Bethelites from my congregation introduced me to the joys of a stiff drink. They were delighted to share their bottles as they taught me to down boilermakers ( straight liquor chased with a beer) . Being a naive southern boy I had never heard of such. They had a big laugh watching the boilermakers go straight to my head. Like someone else said what other fun could we have.

I Ain't Got No Religion No More ... (But I Like to Get Myself Some Gospel Music)

i can't go into a gospel church because i might just get religion again - that or i'll be grabbing the mic on be on the stage waving my hands and praising the lord.. i particularly like dylan's gospel period.
