  I love Ebay.....I saved and made $$$$

  anyone have experience selling on ebay?.

  i recently started learning about it and bought a brand new total gym (the infomercial by chuck norris and christy brinkley).

  it sells for $1,495.00 if you call the infomercial number.

  I also buy and sell on eBay. I hate the way we sellers are nickeled and dimed to death, esp. with the Paypal fees. Sometimes I don't list Paypal in my ads, and am happier to take personal checks if the buyer feedback is over 25 or 50 w. only positive feedbacks.

  Another tip: When I've seen something on QVC, or Infomercials that I might like, I go first to eBay. I have bought the same new clothes on eBay that are selling on QVC ...and saved a lot of $$.

  eBay is definitely Buyer Beware; read the fine print. I try to keep my ads simple but cover all bases. Some Sellers ads get so wordy that I end up skipping over them and move on to someone else.

  i am a practicing wiccan and have been for all of my life.

  i do not discuss my beliefs openly because of preconceived ideas that most people have.

  Really, I think her postings were innocent enough, looking at the context in which they were written. Perhaps the first comments to Jim were a bit much, but I think y'all need to give her a break. She is new to the board and I think the hostile replies to her apology are out of line.

  She came here to help a JW nephew. I have lurked too and learned a lot from everyone. One reason I don't post much is bec there is so much "unity" on the board that I feel out of it. And I have a different sense of humor myself, which might not come across as appropriate at times. Let's move on. Oh, and Welcome Bethany!

  Memorial Season

  i was wondering if someone ever made up a tract or card similar to what the witnesses hand out.

  for the memorial , but with the opposite agenda , maybe with some thought provoking questions or scriptures .. like : why do you celebrate the memorial christ is already present since 1914 .

  OK, Will someone please teach me??? I thought the JWs are to reject the bread and wine (grape juice) unless they are of the annointed. It seems from the postings that everyone IS to eat of the bread and wine. From what I understood previously, most JW's do NOT partake; this is opposite of most Christian communion rituals where almost all partake. Please straighten me out.

  Hi Sista, and welcome. You will learn much here and your journey will be so much better because of this place. I am not a JW but have family "in". Your little boy's story really touched me. I haven't heard many personal experiences w. the blood issue, but to know you made such a turnaround gives me hope for my family. Maybe someday they'll open their eyes. God works in strange ways, I have to think he was there all through the stressful time you spent with your son, leading you along. Good luck and God Bless you all.

  JW Funerals

  i have been disfellowshipped for 13 years.

  last april, my mom passed away from pancreatic cancer.

  she was still a very active witness until the day she died as is the rest of my family.

  Welcome Low-key; my daughter lives in SLC, a transplant to Mormon country. Loves it there but really feels the huge Mormon influence everywhere. Anyway, your posting of the JW funeral sounds like one I went to for a friend's dad. They felt the same way. I had the opposite experience at my brother's Catholic funeral, where his only son, daughter and family would not come into the church and sit with the rest of the family. Until then I had no idea of the really warped teachings of the JW's. That brought me to this board to learn more. It boggles my mind.

  i went to the house of blues in orlando this morning for their "gospel brunch" services.

  it was like church, well a southern black church with gospel singing, electric guitar, lots of the holy spirit... we all testified we were a witness to the lord and said many a halelujah!!!.

  music, singing, and dancing... all while eating cheese grits, bacon, roast beef, shrimp, and drinking a few mimosas.

  Funny this post should appear; we just returned from Las Vegas and I saw ads for the Mandalay Bay's Sunday Gospel Brunch, very similar to this. I would LOVE to have been able to stay for it, am sure it would be very fun and uplifting! God is kinda scarce in Vegas, I think this is a brilliant marketing idea.

  Do you tell your friends your were a JW?

  last night i was out with my friends and i ran into another ex-jw.

  based on the conversation with this ex-jw, my friends could tell that i was hiding something.

  i think i will have to tell my friends that i was a jw.

  I think you'd be surprised that most of us worldly people know very little about JW's. Before my family got in, all I knew about was the Blood refusal, and no holidays. It wasn't til I got into the internet sites that I found out about the shunning, the rules about facial hair, DAing, DFing, etc...I think you would find that most people like me don't know much and would probably just shrug it off. I would definitely tell my friends that I'm glad to not be a part of it anymore (assuming that's the case)...and if they want to know why, I'd tell them the negatives. The world needs to hear.
