  The WTS and Frequent Liar Points

  i have read on here of the frequent flyer points racked up by bethelites etc on wts business and it made me think of this.. .

  frequent liar points.

  the wts has told so many lies to its members, the public and the media that if there were points accumulated for frequent lies then surely they would have a huge tally of them.. .

  i was a false prophet.

  i would spend many a waking hour proclaiming to others that i had special knowledge that i was willing to share so that they could survive the impeding doom that was shortly coming upon mankind.

  i proclaimed to the world, or at least anyone i came in contact with, that the world would end within a generations time from 1914. i spoke this vile falsehood for years without any remorse.. i falsely spoke telling them that i was participating in a special separating work being done all over the world.

  As far as my original post is concerned, I know that we are not technically prophets, but we did act like one. We brought a message that was suppose to be from God. We believed that the message was real and that people's lives where in danger. What we preached was false. Do I blame us for spreading these lies. No, but I do feel bad for the ones I brought in and for anyone that was inactive and I encouraged back. When you are in, you feel like you are serving God. When your eyes are opened, you feel, or at least I do, that it was all a terrible waste of time and energy. We were fooled by those at the head of this organization. They are the ones who are the true false prophets. Not us.

  this morning the bastard that attacked my wife with the intention of raping her was sentenced to 25 years to life plus five years.

  he must serve a minimum of 30 years.

  thank god for the three strikes law (i know that some of the liberals on this board may not join me in my gratitude for the voters of california's wisdom in making that law).

  OUTLAW: I agree with you completely. We were just puppets repeating what we were told.

  Chlam: You said " False prophets speak for themselves and "gods" who exalt themselves to Christ's position." Thank you. that was the point I was trying to bring out with my reply to reniaa. The Society has made themselves equal to Christ. They say that it is only through them can anyone gain salvation.

  The Almighty Homer: It does feel good to be out and free from the nonsense. I started realizing that the Society was looking at us as a cash cow when I bought my first WT CD. I don't remember the exact price, but for something that cost maybe a quarter to make, they were making some profit. I had a lot of elderly brothers and sisters and a few single moms in the congregation. All struggling financially. Plus the pioneers with their part time jobs and living home with their parents. No one had money to burn. I never had any idea how much it cost to make the books, but the Cd's I knew because I could buy blank Cd's for a dollar back then. The Society could buy large quantities and would be able to purchase them for a lot less. Probably a lot of people had the same thoughts that I did, so when they went to the donation only, revenue dropped.

  just a few months ago my little jw sister got married at 19. i remember how excited she was when she started planning the wedding.

  both she and her partner made it clear that there were lots of none jw's present (myself included) so it was not to be a "theocratic" event.

  none of those stupid plays or performances.

  That is outrageous! How dare they. I feel so bad for your sister and her husband. I have never seen anything like that at any wedding that I have attended, it was always understood that it was by invitation only. Weddings are so expensive, so everyone understood. The games must be something new. Never seen that either.

  reniaa: Please do a research on " The Christ" in the Watchtower publications. You will see that up until the writing of the "Life Everlasting in the Freedom of the Sons of God" book, it was taught that the "The Christ" consisted of 144,001. (That would be Christ and all 144,000.) At which point the phrase " The Christ" was changed to The Anointed. So, the scriptures you quote actually prove my point. Thank you

  parakeet: I agree with you wholeheartedly. My biggest regret is leading my sister into this mess. The irony is that the last ten years I was in, I was very active and my sister and husband were not. As I started seeing the light, they started becoming more active. Now he is an an MS and so is their son. It breaks my heart.

  bluecanary: Thank you for the complement. I agree with you about the name. Sometimes I have to sign-in again and it is a pain. I thought the name was cleaver at the time I joined.

  PSacramento: You are correct about the choice being theirs. Thankfully today we have the internet and information about the Watchtower can be found quite easily. Years ago there wasn't much info available. That is why I believe it is much harder today to convince someone it is the truth. Most young ones teenagers are computer savvy and with a click of a mouse know to stay clear. Most of the baptisms today that are done in my area are either family or friends of those already in.

  I have forgiven myself. I thought it was the truth and I was actually saving people. I am just glad that even though I didn't have a great many studies, of the ones that I did have most never even came close to becoming JWs. Only three did and that is three too many. One has passed away while still believing in the lie.
