i remember the "proclaimers" book had some pages devoted to this subject.

does anyone out there who still has the wt library have this information and could you copy those pages to this thread in a reply if possible please?

Sure, if you want to e-mail at:[email protected] that would be fine. I am simply looking for their take on Mythology. I believe there is a few pages devoted to this. Also, it would be interesting to see what they say about Mithras and Dionysius.

well, i stumbled onto this site and decided, after reading a bit to post.. who am i?

i am "no longer one of jehovah's witnesses" as they say now, they no longer use the word "disfellowshipped" in the announcments now.

why am i df'd?

Did you get the new tract?

just wanted to run an informal poll to see how "effective" or hopelessly "ineffective" the borg tract assimilation drive has been.. i for one, have not received the tract, and i live in densely populated development.

did anybody get it left in their doors/mailboxes?.

Yup! I got received two in two days. Yesterday, I received one from my Mom along with a note saying:

'Because we love you and know time is running out I wanted to make sure you got one of these as we are leaving these all over the world with people this month. Hope you will take time to consider and read this important message. We miss you very much! Love, Mom.'

Also, when I came home tonight I found one under my door.

Big changes after the new tract?

one of my jw friends who still talks to me said this was the last tract that will be released from the faithfull discreet slave and that after the tract has been released there will be some major changes and for everyone not to be affraid.

does anyone have an idea of what this might be?

This week's KM guilt-fest

for anybody who attended the service meeting this week (or will this week)

notice the guilt-fest article that mentions not working overtime at work or taking weekend trips and missing the meetings.

ugh, any former witnesses remember looking down on people who went to the beach or took trips frequently on the weekends.
