watching the david letterman "late show" last night was very touching.. dave had on as his main guest, dan rather, cbs newsman and anchor.
of the cbs evening news.. now, this man, rather, is supposed to be a hardened journalist,.
whose job is to report the news objectively and hide emotions/opinion.. he has seen a lot in his long career as a journalist.. he broke down in tears last night twice while dave was interviewing .
"on last Tuesday and as the One and Two World Trade Centers came
crashing down... these people were cheering!"
....I wonder, who they could have been... :( ....obviously they were overjoyed at the death and destruction of human life. How could they be any better than the terrorists themselves??
i was able to chat with several people last wednesday night under my husband's username feb1600.
i had such an enjoyable time that i thought i should come here and introduce myself.

I can understand at some level how it must be very difficult for you to have to deal with your husband's family...I was born and raised as a Witness and my husband studied for a little while, as you did. Having to deal with judicial committees, disfellowshippings, and everything is so stressful on a relationship...with your husband's serious health problems added to that...its amazing you are dealing with it so well! You deserve a lot of praise for sticking by him through this series of events...! This is a good place for venting, and to get out a lot of feelings that have been pent up for years, I hope to see you around sometime...

an ex-jw in the uk has come up with a brainwave!!.
he canvassed his local area and came up with a signed list of several thousand householders who did not wish to be called on again by jehovahs witnesses.. this list was then handed to the local congregations and the london bethel who were then obliged to list all those households as do not calls.. has anyone else tried this?
Who's ready to start door to door in the Minnesota area?? I'm only working 20 hrs. a week right now, and have got a lot of time on my hands!!
i went to see my grandmother today, who has been a jw pioneer for going on 60 years and is still pioneering.
this is what she told me.. she said that they had their one-day assembly yesterday and that attendance was high.
she said that there was someone there from bethel in ny, who told everyone his experience of the attack on tuesday.
Diana, I know exactly what you are going through right now. My entire family just got back from the one day assembly, and all my Mother could say was "Did you know 13 Witnesses were killed? How terrible!"
Usually I just keep my mouth shut, but the events over the last week have been stressful, and I've really been on edge. Well, I flipped out and let her have it...went into way more detail than I should have...(Leaving no doubt in her mind of my "apostate" status!)
I just got back from their house and am really feeling nauseous. My advice is to stay out of these conversations if at all possible. I realize its hard to keep your mouth shut but it is not worth losing what little relationship you may have with your grandmother. This is very hard to do, especially if you feel strongly about how sick the organization is. Just try to change the subject.

there are many jws out there who currently think this could be the start of the great tribulation.

There are many JWs out there who currently think this could be the start of the Great Tribulation. While most of us who have been out for a while know better than that, I'm concerned for those who may not be thinking clearly with their own thoughts and are only able to see what been programmed into them.
It has been demonstrated in the past that this "Armageddon" type thinking can be very dangerous...these persons may be a danger to themselves or others.
Please, if you know any exJWs who are isolated from family or friends, call them and let them know things are going to be o.k.,...
I myself am quite worried as I have a recently DF'd friend who I have not been able to contact for over a month, as well as some others who I know have no access to the internet or other sources of support.
reports are coming in (bbc) of tracer fire and explosions in kabul, afghanistan.. this is of course wher osama bin laden is holed up - have the fbi/cia managed to successfully pin this atrocity on him already?.

Kat, This dream is indicative of how much progress you have already made in cleaning out all the mental junk the WT has left in your head. I too have had many dreams similar to this one, but in them all I was certain I was going to be destroyed with the rest of the nonJWs. Your dream is very different in this; it is an Armaggedon dream, but minus the terror and destruction, and minus the fear or certainty that you will die. Because you live through this dream, its an affirmation that you ARE indeed right for leaving the JWs...in other words, you inner self seems at peace with your decision and you have managed to get around everything you have been taught prior to this!

my observation is that persons who 1) heal/adjust the most rapidly from their jw experience and 2) seem to have the most joy in life are those who read, read, read, in pursuit of what i call nourishment for the spirit.
i've really enjoy the pithy aphorisms you use here, which suggests you've distilled some wisdom from somewhere.

I have read some great books, but nothing compares to forgetting everything that everyone has tried to tell you about the world...(this was the point where I realized the WT was false) Simply going outside and looking up at the sky, and seeing/experiencing nature in its entirety, how everything is cyclical, discovering true "natural law," made me realize that everything in the Bible, and Christianity (as well as any of the NEW religions for that matter) is sheer crap.
This experience in my opinion cannot be duplicated in a book.
given a comment on my brci sound bites, yet another, though now deceased, gb member also stated that the organization's teachings are a farce or fraud.
also, ray franz publications have throughly documented his views from the time he was on the gb and afterwards, as to what he thinks.
it seems that ray also mentioned in crisis of conscience that some of the gb felt that their 1914 doctrine was in serious error while he was there.

"IT" is a train out of control, and they know it. Perhaps they are just sitting around on their hineys, waiting for some "New Light" to plop down into their laps.
In the end, I see the GB as being like Hitler...if any of the old ones are left when the WT falls, they'll probably take the only option they have left, which would involve "getting out" in a sense, before they can be tried for their war crimes.
i must be honest here, one of the main reasons that i chose to depart the jws was so that i could have more sex.
actually, thats not quite true, when i say have more sex, i really mean to say have sex with more girls.
