take a good look at ezekiel's post regarding the district convention's talk on behavior at meetings and note the.
society's complaint that too much gum chewing and paper rustling is going on.
kids, they note, have been observed.
They've gotta go to a congregation themselves?

How about the famous article on prostate cancer, telling us that this is a good thing that christians are moral
because immoral thoughts can cause this illness!
All doctors will tell you that frequent sex will help your prostate
i was sent a letter stating that on friday august 27, 2004, there will be a seminar exposing the watchtower society's history and secrets.
during the program, they will have a guest speaker telling his story as to how he was abused by a governing body member at world headquarters.
another will testify that he was about to be appointed a ministerial servant while carrying on in an adulterous relationship.......besides exposing the "secrets", the letter says they'll be exposing the occult connections of the society, the mental manipulation and mind control, even elevated anxiety and mental illness amongst jws.
Those seminars are dearly needed, unfortunately at the end hey sell you salvation through the born agains
as much as i believe that the witnesses are a "cult", i don't think i'd choose to legally ban them.
what about you?
?
Blondie, one of our elders is from the Rome, Italy congregation and he has been a JW for 55+ years. He told us during
a book study that in Italy they use to give brothers a "certificate of promise to marry" why? Because in Italy/France, etc
a divorce could take up to 15 years so a brother could have sex, think he was married, but would be only married legally when
the dicorce went through.
This was sanctioned by the Branch there, and they do not do it anymore.... wonder why?

I was an attendant at the conventions for years, and never heard this until 2 years ago:
The attendant chief specifically asked us that if a member of the press is inside
the building --> then send them immediately to them, and DO NOT let them take video/pictures
before this!

I wish there would be some high profile newsperson, who weekly would submit 5 minutes of the
news' airtime to telling people the truth about the "troof". Showing old stuff that never happened, and
people and dubs would see that reputable people are reporting this stuff.
P.S. I've been on the news 2 times this week (cbs - New York)

gumby.
I was really trying!
my former congregation usually had a congregation picnic once a year.
all of the brothers (a/k/a men) had to pay for all of the food.
the sisters (a/k/a women) had the godly priviledge of serving the food.
Blondie, you're right in the early-mid 80's the gatherings stopped by order of the society. After the
letter or suggestion from the society any such gathering could not be announced from the congregations
meetings. Any invitations can only be made on a personal level, therefore there will always be the "one" left out
due to being the one skipped over. For some reason IT cannot be congregation sponsored/setup.
