Just like mamma and pappa day
WTS answer "you're supposed to be thankful EVERY day"
the first holiday of the season is coming up soon, and i was wondering why j.w.
's don't celebrate it.
it's not a bilbical event, as far as i know.

WTS answer "you're supposed to be thankful EVERY day"
why is it that the wts seems to pick on children from such an early age?
i was reading some personal stories in the best of forum, and so many have gone through rough times as a child in the jw.
i personally remember times where i was ashamed, embarrassed, and upset about being a jw as a child.
In front of the C.O. they put me and a sister (10 to 12 at the time) to recite the bible books in the right order!
This was a lot of pressure
this came up in another topic and feel it needs a topic of its own.
does anyone else have experiences of meeting (cant use the word 'brothers')men from high up in the borg and felt uneasy about it.. alanb wrote.
i was at twickenham many years ago (about 20) and went to the admin area to get info about serving where the need was great (great plan that turned out to be) anyway there were two elderly yet autstere brothers standing at the steps to the main office area looking as though they owned the place, they had a real air of seniority and importance about them, i have no idea who they were, yet sense they were senior one was english the other american.. .
C'mon RR, you did not give those bethellites the little envelope (stuffed)?
We must live 10 miles from each other?
just a little background without mentioning names (this guys son is now a boxer, rated #15th in the world in the 140# class, and seen on shobox 3 months ago).
well he's had a bumpy ride, including divorce, and children from 1st marriage not talking to him anymore.
well i have not seen him in 1 year, but have seen his 2 sons at my.
"are you sure about this:"
This was done in another language, so I'm trying my best to transcribe.
But it must of been that, and the local needs talk was the same night

I know myself that Convention stories are "exaggerated" to "encourage"
Same is here.
Also there is to note (not as a rule, but an observance) that poor people have little to hope for. So when someone
comes knocking on your door with paradise! Whoa!

did you ever notice how some guys ( because only males are allowed to do anything ) thought they were so cool just because they did mikes or were behind the magazine counter.
why did they feel this way and what else can you think of that in reality was kinda stupid but to these guys felt really important and special to do?
When the C.O. came once, this sister asked me to record her the talk. I asked for the cassette, she asked me back for a favor
if I had one..... I though and said "I'm sure I have one in the car!"
Well, I did not but I had heavy metal songs in cassettes (re-recorded from CD) so I though I could record on this!
Well, when the C.O. went up, I hit the record button........ But since the copy protect tab was broken it played instead! Guess what the congregation
heard for 5 secs? Metallica

Doing mikes is cool because you have green light to look at the sisters

Doing trash is not so cool.

Unfortunately he was one of those in which I will always use to show hypocrisy in the congregation: "Hey, sister spiritual, he used to be d'fd for xx xx!" "did you know that"
Yeah that label by all never left him. His older son and daughter from another marriage (active and zealots) never forgave him for leaving his wife, and never spoke to him again, even after
reinstatement. I always felt sorry for him to come to assemblies seeing his son/daughter and they looked the other way! Luckily he has a new family.
I wish them the best
