what do you "law abiding" j.w.
In small communities where JW's are substantial, shunning can devastate a person financially (employment also) therefore also driving some to suicide!

a couple of years ago we where told by the co that some people were still using the green bibles.......shock horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and that we shouldnt as it was showing that we didnt appreciate the latest ones...black or maroon.

On top of all that another thing about the black bibles is that:
there is the original and the new with references in the middle of page (they magically send you to scriptures that complete the correct thought)
then there is the deluxe bible
then there is the large print bible
then there is the very very large print bible (2 books)
amazing!

Somebody in my congo has a purple bible, anyone know when this was done?
they must have billions...annual revenue alone was almost a billion last year.
they must have close to 10 billion in assets and a large chunk of that is cash.
if the world is going to end any day that cash is useless.
One thing I could never understand was: If we believe the GB
are the "ones" chosen by GOD, then why are they not the officers
of the organization? These guys are diffrent, have been diffrent for the longest

when i was a youngster, the creative days of genesis 1 were always referred to as being 7000 years long.
i believe the 1975 hoo-hah was related to this teaching as 6000 years since adam's creation plus a 1000 year reign neatly wraps up a 7000 years seventh day of rest.. in another thread narkissos quoted a wt article from 1983 that repeats the 7000 year day teaching.
i don't think anyone much younger than me, or anyone who bacame a jw in the last 10-15 years is aware of this belief.
Now that my eyes are open, I can't understand the following:
To be disciples of Christ, why is it important to know every nit picking detail in the Bible?
Why can't they just leave the mysteries alone?
When you assume, you make an a-- out of you and me! That's how I feel about those years in service telling people these "troofs"
jws are a self-righteous bunch!-------- do you remember when an elder or so-called "mature one" would get into some trouble and either get "disciplined" or "deleted" and the reaction in the hall?
some used to gloat over a big-shot getting into trouble with the elders or circuit overseer.
or the gossip mill would just be buzzing over seeing someone going into the "backroom" with 2 or 3 elders.....do you remember those days???
After a meeting in which an Elder gave me the scripture of proverbs "do not speak.... when you do not know the facts"
I publictly showed the other elders how he lied to all and was bad mouthing all the other elders.
He blew in a fit of rage! the elders took him outside the room, when he re-entered he shook my hand apologyzed (not wanting to)
a couple of months later he was removed, then he moved congregations, then his elder son got married and he was refrained from
entering his son's wedding (JW).
What a downward spiral!

in Genesis with half of one in Revelation to prove any point they want
