  Does the goverment shut down organizations that create suicidal conditions for it's members?

  Not always, but look at what happened to the branch davidians when they made a line crossing mistake?

  P.S. To my above post...this guy was an elder and pioneer!!! Don't you just love it? I had a sister working in my office that was writing out checks to herself and hiding it by changing the numbers on the checks and used my Corp Amex to order things for her home. She had successfully stolen about $15,000.00 before we caught it. She was privately reproved...couldn't answer at the meetings for 3 WHOLE months! Wow! We went to same hall and I thought we were good friends. The Elders begged me not to press charges as she agreed to repay the money...I'm still waiting! 10 yrs and waiting!!!

  Reminds me of the rule of counting the money at the kingdom hall: 2 brothers collect, and at no time will one do it alone!!!

  If we are the "most honest people on earth" then why do we need 2 brothers?

  As another poster said "All doors in bethel have locks". I guess we are the most honest people on earth that cannot be trusted!!!

  i have a friend that was dumb enough to allow two elders in his house at the same time to talk to him, he let them in.

  i have told him over and over again never to talk to two elders at the same time.

  i'll get to the point.

  I wonder how I can word this thought to the elders when I'm asked next time to become like them???

  I'll say: If I become elder, and a goat sues me for giving them the wrong advise/judgement, will the WT defend me in court???

  This thread is a good reason for me not to accept the appointment of elder. As a MS I stay out the nitty gritty.

  As an elder I would be prone to be sued for any actions I take on behalf of this God forsaken false organization!!!!!

  I wonder how I can word this thought to the elders when I'm asked next time to become like them???

  It's probaby that the WT was bought by investors years ago. These investors are the ones that are named on the board ofdirectors that the average JW has no idea about. These investors need a hefty paycheck (as any other nonprofit organization: Can pay employees or directors). They are trimming jobs at all levels in Bethel. Cutting costs at all levels. Asking higher donations, and more slave labor.

  This to feed the hungry mouths of these board members.
