I would not hire anyone I knew to be THAT out of touch with reality and that unable to think or reason for themselves. Hardworking or not. Honest or not. There are plently of honest, hardworking people to choose from without hiring a JW. As a sidenote - no - I do not trust them. I have been lied to and manipulated too many times by devout JW's. They do not know how to tell the truth.

in asking the question "how does god protect us?
" sister elder answered this way: "well, one of the ways is like that abuse case that was filed in the (twin) cities, or wherever, (sic) it turns out it was thrown out because all the charges were false, or whatever.

I guess its just a knee jerk reaction or a defensive thing. If they dont spout this crap, they'd probably just curl up in a foetal position and start quoting John 3 16 over and over again. Most of the time, they say these things without even engaging their brains. I dont get angry with them anymore,I just pity them.
That is so true. I really don't think most of them have the ego strength to handle the real truth. They would probably have a nervous breakdown! It's just extra sad that they would rather fault innocent abused children over the Society. Disgusting!

I don't use that word at all - unless badmouthing the JW's!! I can't even stand to hear any bible reading. I really cringe when people use the bible around me. It just brings up such bad memories of having scriptures forced down my throat and of being manipulated and lied to with scriptures.

Sad thing is that it wouldn't really be turning the clock back. It happens all the time.
They don't seem to have the sensitivity to understand that children of gay parents need to see themselves as "normal" or mainstream and TV shows like that can help. Children can be mean and they need to be taught about other cultures/lifestyles, etc. We obviously can't leave that job up to the parents. What is meant to be an attack on gays is really an attack on children. That's a sad thing.

What did you actually enjoy about JW meetings?

as much as i dreaded going to all the meetings there were things that i did enjoy.. 1. no special parking spaces for the elders, etc.. 2. no collections plate going around the room.
3. no one person giving the talk every single week (can you imagine the same speaker 3 to 4 times a week, every day?

Sometimes we got to get Popeye's fried chicken after the Sunday meeting. Yea. That was cool.
Oh - and if it ended on time we could also catch the end of "American Top 40" and hear the #1 song for the week!!

the aftermath
by the mole inmy uncle called for my dad and wanted to know why he stopped attending meetings, he then asked me what hall im attending.
first i told him my dad could only answer why he does what he does and then i told him i had difficulty with alot of teachings that are curious.
after talking for awhile i asked him why if the magazines are a tool for bible understanding then why is it that so many take it as bible truth?
